As per a recent gameing discussion on here on the new versions of FIFA and PES:

Seems Pro Evo has come a long way and overtaken FIFA. Hope that helps.

I think we will see the death PES soon tbh mate, its sales figures here was terrible in relation to FIFAs. Saw somewhere shipped 50k units week one compared to over 1m for FIFA. With Konami shifting more toward mobile gaming and games with microtransactions I wouldnt be surprised if we see the death of PES in the next few years which is a shame because like FM FIFA will have no competition

Never seriously played either TBH. Always been a CM/FM man as that appeals to the analytical side of me far more than just straight paying action. (NEVER beat Sensible World of Soccer for me in that respect but that's another story.).

Although I haven't honestly played footie manager in nigh on a year as I just never can find the time to sit down for the duration needed. That blasted thing 'real life' keeps getting in the way!

Yeah loved sensi on my amiga back in the day. But I've played FIFA this year but not even finished a season yearas I am just so busy right now setting up a business. As for FM I have found that far too easy for at least last 3 years just have no motivation to play anymore.

FM is much better with friends tbh on network saves.

Yeah maybe never really tried, and it would be finding a schedule that fits my chaotic lifestyle haha. But nah because things are a bit mad for me right now its just easier to play my PS4 casually when I have time can jump in and out of FIFA and the witcher 3 goty quite easily whereas FM is more time consuming. Although Civ 6 on the horizon could potentially ruin my life ;)

forget the licensing issues, pes 2017 ****** all over fifa in terms of gameplay.i play football games that play like a game of football and im afraid fifa jsut doesnt cut it in that respect.FM is the most addictive game ive ever played though, can remember signing gary lineker and maradona back in the day

Yeah loved sensi on my amiga back in the day......

Simplistically brilliant wasn't it? Man alive those direct runs you could go on and then blam mad goals in. And the state of some the tatles ..... Deary me you'd get life bans now! WAY before the champ manager days you'd be up all night playing full seasons and going into school the next morning like an extra from the Walking Dead lol.

I believe they're trying to bring it out on the Xbox in all it's original glory which would be the one thing that would DEFO have me buying an Xbox.

God, getting all nostalgic now but **** do I miss the Sensible series. The single most fun footie vide game EVER!

Jumping on the PES vs FIFA debate. I think PES is far better than FIFA gameplay wise.

FIFA is better in the licencing, commentary and on PC the graphics department, but it does not hold a candle to PES gameplay which imo is the most important thing for a football game. Last year it was fun, fluid, and just overall felt great, bar the goalkeepers, to play PES while FIFA just felt slow and boring. This year FIFA feels the same and PES feels even better than last year.

PES has really improved the keepers so much that really improves the feel of the game. Last year you could just finesse shoot and 9/10 times you'd score because the keepers reacted after the ball had gone past them. This year they react as soon as the ball leaves your players foot so they actually make saves.

Yeah loved sensi on my amiga back in the day.

I spent hours playing that on the Amiga, great craic.
Speaking of Fifa!! I have had a player career going for a number of seasons as a young 'me' playing for Middlesbrough.
We finally got promoted and the offers started pouring for me. Spurs, Inter Milan, Liverpool, PSG etc... I turned them all down and waited patiently for my dream move.
Finally United came in for me and I accepted straight away. Got my first run out in a friendly up front (I'm a striker). Then!!
Guess who they bought??? F***ing Suarez!!! I've to play with that ***** all season :S

This is brilliant.

Boss that ta.

Always respected Neville. Hated the little ____, but always respected him. From Bury, which most all out that way/ North Greater Manchester is staunch Utd. Born and bred Utd fan. Never had a problem when he openly came out and said he hated L'pool which a lot did. Wouldn't expect anything less.

Sensible Soccer all the way. I still remember I had this wicked curler long shot practiced from about 40 yards out. It would always go in and drive my mates crazy.

It was weird game though, not realistic in a slightest but just so **** FUN. All the obsession about realistic simulation has beaten all the FUN out of football games.

You used to get some mad shots that game didn't you? 25 yard blams you could put some real curl on. Remember a similar shot I used to score loads from rebounds off as the 'keeper aways saved it out the same way haha.

Exactly. it was just pure FUN. Hours and hours of fun playing that game.

Funny you say that, some of my friends don't play FM anymore because of that exact reason, how realistic it has become. I personally love it, but I do get what you mean.

I just downloaded the roms (can I say that on here?) for the Amiga emulator on the Android tv box.
Mapped the buttons quickly to the joypad and gave it a go :D
Fast, furious and now... Utter ***** :'(

Edit: I went 3 nil down in about 40 seconds... Stupid f***ing game. ;)

Pes's gameplay has plenty of faults as well. The pitches are too narrow, its to easy to get by players and most of the time you can dribble the pitch with one player pass twice and score

Yeah, personally speaking that's where I distinguish.

Footie Manager I want as realistic as it possibly can be to enhance that experience.

But footie video games I just want to be able to dive straight in and have fun without everything having to be perfect and having to learn a zillion different control moves to do something yer know?

That's exactly how I feel.
I want my FM to be hyper realistic (past few years I've been able to get promoted every year with any team and dominate the globe... Boring), and my arcade football to be a great two player button basher.
