Would be pretty funny if, after everything, Schweinsteigers gets played before Mkhitaryan does

Have Schweinsteiger over Fellaini any day of the week. Need his leadership presence if nothing else.

Mkhitaryan has featured this season, started against City, changed the game from the bench against Hull.

He has only played around 100 minutes which is nothing.

I know, but the way Average Joe phrased his post, maybe he forgot he did feature this season, in which case Bastian wouldn't have played before him.

I am amazed how last year's Bundesliga player of the year can't even get into the United squad

I would love Bastian to return. We're playing some really nice stuff, and he fits that so much more than Fellaini, I understand Carrick being picked over him, but I would rotate him back into the side. Clear, Jose sees something he can offer, and is willing to bring him back for it.

I wonder if this is going to be another Filipe Luis type situation. Certainly looks exactly like that in its initial stages in terms of the justifications Jose is coming up with to explain why he is not picking Mkhitaryan.

Fingers crossed it doesnt turn out like that

UNITED ENTER UNDER-19 GERMAN TOURNAMENT

Manchester United are to compete in the International Sparkasse & VGH Cup in Germany for the first time in the New Year.

The Goettingen-based tournament is for Under-19 players and is the latest trip scheduled for the Academy youngsters.

Austria Vienna won last year's five-a-side event with Fulham the only English representatives. Germany internationals Manuel Neuer and Mesut Ozil have previously taken part in the prestigious competition.

A sizeable crowd is expected and the indoor game will present plenty of challenges for the young Reds between 5 and 8 January 2017.

Head of Academy Nicky **** told ManUtd.com recently: "We have developed our tours and tournaments programme for the remainder of the season. We are passionate about our players experiencing all of the benefits that come with tournament football such as elite opposition, different styles of football, penalty shoot-outs and a competitive environment."

Hooray! Would’ve been great to have some pillows at OT last season.

No mate I know he played, I just meant after all this complaining lately that he hadn't started it would be funny if Schweinsteiger who was dropped out of the squad actually got in ahead of him now.

(Didn't actually realise he had played as many as 100 mins though lol)

The irony is that this was being announced on the same day that Guardiola was holding his press conference before the glamour European tie against Barcelona. Times have certainly changed in Manchester.

And Clattenberg has been 'rewarded' with the north london derby for that performance
