When Rooney played as lone striker we lacked genuine AM so he was isolated a lot, but with players like Kagawa he can excel and play much better than before. When he drops deep Kagawa is capable of making those runs.

Exactly, the problem wasnt Rooney, but the lack of support in that AM band.

Agree with this, the media are just blowing it out of proportion because we missed out on a few players and ignoring the fact that we brought in some pretty good players last season and I am confident we will do the same this season.
 
Imagine Rooney and Welbeck partnership, just instead Welbeck - Rooney will play striker and Kagawa AMC. Could be deadly. Do we really need a class CM ? I mean, Carrick is pretty much obvious choice for midfield. Cleverley will be there. As will Scholes (and maybe Ando). Giggs and Park can cover + Not sure about Fletch. If Pogba stays, then we should have enough midfielders, right ?

Yeah i posted something like this a while back i think our mid is not bad tbh carrick,cleverly,giggs,scholes,anderson,fletcher,pogba and dont forget about tunnicliffe,petrucci coming through and powell which i think will happen soon, thats alot of CM.

This was always going to happen, once Kagawa said he would not re-sign, A Dortmund offical said last week it was a matter of coming to a price agreement. Kagawa for his part was delighted with what he had experience when meeting SAF two weeks ago.
 
Tunnicliffe and Petrucci ( who isn't CM, he's AMC?) should go on loan. Both under still under 20, plenty of time for them.

High in number, not particularly high in quality, still need another quality player there.

Yeah true some still to young and need time and others coming to end, do you think fergie is looking for someone or will leave it coz next seas some of younger CM s will be ready?

Petrucci can play as CM in a 2 like scholes, but you right he prefers AMC but seen loads in reserve games this season has played deeper!
 
Don't think we can go into the season reliant upon the fitness of Anderson and Cleverley, while Scholes and Giggs will not be fit to play both CL and PL matches in a week. Need another body, especially having also lost Fletcher, who I am really gutted for. Get well soon Fletch!

Would love us to try and tempt someone like Nuri Sahin away from Real, although it looks unlikely. I've always liked Ever Banega too, although I'd expect us to go for someone with a bit of a physical presence. Gutted to miss Vidal last year, maybe go for De Rossi if the funds are there?

Yeah vidal would have been class, i like banega but think has just had really bad injury, was lot of rumours about de rossi read somewhere nearly out of contract but think he would cost to much plus his wage demands. Would not mind if went for someone like asamoah:) or diarra/keita from barca.

I think should defo go for baines not sure about fellaini i like him but sometimes can go missing in games not sure how much he would cost.

United is likely to go for Kagawa, so don't think they need another CM/ACM, and I just can't imagine Baines there.
