The Manchester United Thread

It's mad to think that two of Liverpool, Arsenal, City and United will miss out on CL. So competitive.

These are the types of goals you will score in a 4-2-3-1 with Mata and Mkhitaryan both playing, little pieces of intricate passing. The system has it's arguable flaws, possibly being overrun, but against weaker opposition it can be lethal with the players we have

Well that should be that, good efficient finishing from us today, something we have badly lacked this season.

Another very good goal. More terrible defending from Leicester. Just HOW were this side SO secure last year? Basic defending Fuchs. Stay with your man. Shocking.

They were equally woeful in a defensive aspect when we played them at home.

The only change I'd make is Martial for Rashford, I don't even know what Rashford has done to start again today but he's been poor.

134 United games for Mata 34 goals, 135 games at Chelsea and 33 goals

They aren't even doing the basics any more. This side is headed one way with everyone around them bar Palace headed the other. There's just nottin' in this side.

Still not forgotten speaking to some Leicester lads before our first home game and them saying they'd rather of lost both Mahrez and Vardy than Kante. Such was Kante's importance to them last year. Turns out they weren't far wrong.

Yeah, they were matching Utd sound that game until they completely went to sleep on a corner and then completely capitulated.

With Seville coming up in Europe I don't see how that offers the a break. And then he's left trying to pick them up for a dog fight.

Not looking good at all.

We need to earn that right first. That starts by not continually dropping poor points.

Seems to be a common thing at times with the big clubs. Actually I'll rephrase that; it's a common theme in general in the Premier League these days, but with the talent at the bigger clubs it shouldn't be happening. But football right now is such an unpredictable beast it's really hard to correctly guess what's going to happen.

On paper for example with team comparisons, Team A should murder Team B because of the talent on the pitch. However, human behavior could dictate the outcome instead of the talent. For example 1 or 2 of the best players could be very complacent, and leave it to the last minute to make an effort but by then it could be too late. Or could be laziness. Could be anything. We've seen some atrocious officiating dictate games aswell making a huge impact. Which could cost a club either a European place, or relegate a club.

Or it could just be sods law.

Fuchs again just stood around ball watching and not going with the runner. Basic defending.

Mata should of added another to compound his nightmare day.

Never known an era where confidence plays SUCH a huge part either. Players today are so **** fragile that single-mindedness to stay focused and not let anything effect you like a Gerrad or Ibrahimovic have is getting few and far between. I half get it considering the 24 hour a day, 7 day a week scrutiny they're now under. Then there's all the **** on social media reminding them of their last bad game all the following week. But man alive that many teams are so fragile mentally and so confidence based today it's untrue.

Hazard's last few years is a prime example. Best player the league two years ago. Turned to utter ***** last year when the whole team went South. The team around him starts playing well this term, and his form picks right back up. And that's one of the best players in the league.

Zlatan's all round game has been superb today. Looks so much better when he has players closer to him (#10!!!!).
