lots of football to be played.Need to play like they want to actually finish in top four if only to prove scouse wrong hahahaha

If we are ever to be successful, it won't be with Pogba being part of a 2 man midfield in a 4-2-3-1.

To just shut Evertonians getting WAY above their station right now up would be a good thing!

Utd fail to win today (distinctly possible being as Leicester are beyond desperate for points and you've fully embraced mediocrity again since the L'pool game) they'll have an open top bus parade lined up for surpassing yers next weekend!

As much as nobody wants to see Utd winning football games, gloating Blues are a FAR worse prospect!

Why not? People think he can't just because he played in a 3 at Juve and because Dechamp had no idea how to get the best out his players in the Euros. Or are you basing that off the fact he was partnered with Fellaini at the start?

Everytime I see Pogba in a 2 man midfield he virtually looks lost, I just fail to see how it would ever work. Even if you've got a superman partner for him I still don't think it would. For me Pogba to ever get the best out of him he needs to be part of a 3 man midfield in some shape or form.

Some of our best football was with Pogba paired up with Herrera or Carrick in a 4-2-3-1

Pep would have turned that lad into the greatest RB of all time by now... MOU sucks :p

Think you're wrong, our best football has come with Carrick, Herrera and Pogba in the midfield.

I think back to that Arsenal game at home when we somehow didn't win due to Giroud last minute goal. We absolutely dominated them and Pogba played a huge part in that with an impressive performance.

They've also been excellent with Mata in front.

The key is his midfield partner. has to always be Carrick or Herrera

I thought he would have been perfect with Schneiderlin but for whatever reason Jose didnt like him. But I want Herrera in the team and at the moment they both need somebody like Carrick in behind allowing them more freedom so needs to be a 3 man mid at the moment. Im sure Jose already knows who he wants in the summer and what formation he'll be working towards. Griezman works in either formation playing off the right, with Martial/Rashford rotating on the left with Ibra upfront. Or gradually phase out Ibra with Griezman leading and Mkhitaryan on the right. Either formation doesnt really change the wide men and striker. Just deciding whether to play 3 in midfield or 2 with an attacking midfielder off the striker.

I controversially think our best performances this season have came with Pogba in a 2. He ripped Leicester to shreds in a 2 man midfield, and Mata was fantastic in the #10 that day. And I still think our two joint best performances this season were home ties against Stoke and Burnley, I'd say we had 70 efforts at goal in those 2 games, absolutely tore them a new arsehole without the points to show for it, but yet again Pogba was in a 2 alongside Herrera, and extremely influential.

I personally think we look ridiculously fluent when we play 4-2-3-1 with Mata in the hole knitting things together, but I do agree the system has it's risks in the big games. I personally would play 4-2-3-1 against 13 teams in that league both home and way, and possibly at home against Everton. And go with a 3 man against the top 6 always.

Martial will never be a STR under Mourinho. And has barely even played there throughout his career.

No Rooney, Carrick or Shaw today. Talk of us playing Rashford and Zlatan together up top from MEN others saying going with 4241.

UNITED TEAM TO FACE LEICESTER
Here's the side Mourinho has picked for this afternoon's clash...

Love how Mourinho excuses every squad absentee with 'illness' XD

Ibra will get the service. Watch the level of intricate passing and little triangles we'll have if Mata's playing in the #10.
