The Manchester United Thread

That is what Carrick does, especially when freed by having that mobile destroyer with more to his game. whose role I have just described. We are going to be playing a 4-2-3-1, we will be creating much high up the pitch than in a 4-4-2. Not only that we also plug our other weakness of being physically overrun. Which is why as we have shown so many times, Dembele, while a good player, is not the answer. In fact that player allows Carrick to drop off into space.

I agree with his, not completely. Sort of. Reason being Carrick being freed up, and you know I'm a big fan of Carrick.

In the last few games Carrick broke his shackles and ventured forward and played nice passes in the box (which our striker missed which is other issue). He is very capable midfielder and I dont mind Fellaini if we play Carrick is more advanced role than the deep one he is playing now. Sort of 2006-07 season where he made many of those runs.

I got what you are saying, I was just thinking on other lines, to counter our problem by creating pressure on opposition. Fair enough what you said in this posts is much more of an answer as it means Carrick will play expansive game.

Buy a player who fits all requirements, dont half **** it by buying a player who does half a job

Still would take Dembele in heartbeat for 10 Million (as he is on his final year). I dont think we will sign Fellaini as Everton signed him for 16 Million so surely they will expect a nice profit.

Dembele not in place of Fellaini, but as someone who can add a lot to the team.

I just have to bow down to this. I said something and somehow you ended up linking to Fellaini lol.

One more attempt, here is my point ".".

Yeah just a full stop, I know you can link up some how to Fellaini. :D

Yeah, it's the sum total of all the viable arguments against getting him for United.

Err no. I described Vidal. Not poor man's.

I see your point - I would be foolish to argue that Fellaini's on Vidal's level at the moment without much more proof - but 'can tackle, pass, dribble and shoots from distance and works incredibly hard'? 'Played behind the striker for many games and excelled at it by scoring goals'?! That's exactly what Fellaini does, in a nutshell. A hard working, well-rounded and versatile central midfielder.

Dembele limits Carrick, because Carrick then becomes our most defensively adept player. Carrick should always be a middle man, allowed to step forward, or drop into space if the midfield is too crowed. You cannot do that with a bomb forward happy Dembele. Fellaini isnt as good as Vidal, but he is still a cracking player, who fits all the requirements we need. Not half like Dembele does.

Yeah, agreed with this. When thinking about Carrick's role it makes sense to buy Fellaini type.

Against getting Fellaini to United? *Anyways that was not my major point as in my first post I said I dont mind Fellaini*

Like you said Vidal is on other level and was dirt cheap :(

Personally I think that this "Fellaini" is terrible and you should leave him to rot at Everton...

*looks shifty*

Just looking on MUFC official site to read abit more about andreas pereira, was supprised looking at acadamy player profiles how many youg tallents we have, never really had a propper read but was interesting especially like the look of this lad called nicholas ioannou signed jan this year.

In one of my previous post, I mentioned Defour and I have no idea why I did. It was a mistake. I meant Witsel in that post.

Ok, Dembele and Kagawa are same type of player ( pretty much the same). Dunno why would we need another player like Kagawa ? We need someone like Keane, Hargreaves or Fletcher. Someone who is good in defense, can press and pass. Few names are available, Fellaini is one of them. He would be pricey, but he is really good all-round defensive midfielder.

Still think Lars Bender fits the bill perfectly, look forward to hopefully seeing a bit of him over the Euro's although he might not get any gametime with the likes of Kroos and Schweinsteiger most likely covering them positions, or even Khedira. Leverkusen are not in the Champions League so we could get Lars for a half decent price if he was interested.

He'll keep his fingers crossed that Michael Brown doesn't sign a new contract with Leeds :P

Here comes the summer influx of Heskey, Reo-Coker and Michael Brown, all on frees!

Kagawa with 1 assist and one pass that led to assist against Oman. Having very good game. His movement is just superb. Btw his assist came from left wing position, low inswinging cross.
