The Manchester United Thread

I keep thinking about Pogba/Mbappe in Frances 442 formation last night and how United and Pogba/Rashford/Martial would thrive in it, especially if we sign Morata/Perisic?

We would get destroyed against any other top 4 challenging team with that formation. France don't even play like that 99% of the time. And they was playing a **** England side.

I suppose, just miss the old 442 days and love how it works for Monaco and worked for France, but you're prolly right!

Yers can barely beat any top 4 challenging team as it is so it might just work. :D

It worked for Monaco because the 2 CMs Fabinho and Bakayoko actually played more like DMs sitting deep and letting the 4 attackers do quick counter transitions. Would be a huge waste of Pogba in that system. Jose will stick with his tried and tested 433/4231.

Its like new teenage trend to play 3 at back. Seems like everyone "first time" saw it with Conte doing it and so many trying to do the same.Wenger does it now considering his comments after first singing, even our Estonia national squad now play 3 at back...

LVG tried to play 3 at the back but couldn't pull it off

We saw last night that 3 at the back can fail miserably if the opposition has a superior midfield. Saw it in the CL final too

USA used 3 at the back earlier this week against mexico and it got them a draw away from home, a decent result.

..."He gave Morata his debut as an 18yo, and in the 2012/2013 season, Morata was playing for him in the El Classico, the Madrid derby, etc. ".
..

(for Average Joe) Posted this at the start of the season in a Mourinho/youth debate.. So there was definitely a respect built between the pair
