Madrid do this to anyone they're facing tonight Scouse, not a whole pile we can do about it other than compete. We've done really well under the circumstances. Very quick start, undone by an offside goal which then saw them control the game with the confidence and class they have.

I thought he was good until the goal which saw him moved out to the left flank
His decision making has been frustrating as heck. Twice had a player in a loads better position for a shot but blasted it. Has worked hard and put in some good tackles.

Hard to blame Lindelof though, unexpected formation, facing Bale/Benzema and a host of midfield runners. He won't have it harder than this.

True. Like I say, complete clinic from Madrid. But that was to be expected. They're the best team in Europe by far and this isn't the Europa.

But you need to sharpen up the attitude all over and stand up to them or this will get away fast. Lucky it's not 2 or 3 and done already.

Sitting back and not pressuring them is the single worst thing you can do against these. Not helping himself with his tactics at all. Only Matic is getting any pressure on them. And the second half doesn't look to of started any differently.

Far, far too easy that Isco goal.

Evertonians everywhere are currently nodding at Lukaku in a big game snatching at that.

Wtf same old ****, new season, not clinical at all.

This game is over but the defending was a farce for their goal, a one-two and goodbye our defence.

I was never expecting us to play smooth flowing football tonight, but I don't know what this would be called... Very poor, missing every chance, last ditch tackling, poor passed and not winning the second ball.

Disappointing, was looking forward to a good game tonight

I was optimistic going into the season... everything we done bad last season has shown up tonight... not so optimistic now that's for sure.

Poor performances all around, system and tactics have been just as bad mind you.

real have run us ragged but theres no shame in this, they are the best side in europe by a distance imo.We are moving in the right direction,no need to panic

Is there really anything to say we are moving in the right direction after this? Not good enough in my mind.

We've played right into Madrids hands, sitting deep, no pressure. As good as they are I agree with Scouse, you want to at least engage them higher up the pitch and put more pressure on their defence.

They are a great team but their defence is as suspect as ever. We haven't put enough pressure on it so far. When we do it looks shakey.

But at least you have a match to watch tonight Scouse?

I did. I had an interest on a Madrid 4-0, which it should have been in truth before the bad 'keeping there from Navas, but that's gone down now. Just what was over in an account so no harm no foul.

Matic our MOTM tbh.

Done well, but too much defensive responsibility on him. Herrera and Pogba very poor. Fellaini has offered more than Herrera in 5 mins, which is saying a lot.
