The Manchester United Thread

Yeah I'm sure you're overwhelmed with joy to watch 4th division level football.

bit condescending mate, which is the whole issue with why people will not give women football a chance. Sure it will never be as good as male performance, but that's just life and we need to give support to these people.

It's almost as bad as people who criticise Paralympics because it isn't as exciting as the olympics. You shouldn't;t even be going into it with that mentality.

‘Sake z.

Yer can’t add ‘these people’ and have that carry any weight. You’re doing the same thing you’re trying to make a pertinent point over.

It shouldn’t have.

You just patronised woman with the ‘these people’ line in the same breath of pulling Tyton for being condescending toward woman’s football.

Jeez, I was trying to support it not condescend it. The post was meant for that purpose.

Pulled up on English by Scouse. Might as well throw your keyboard in the sea.

No surprise the plastic flag waver completely missed the message there, but regardless .....

I know what you meant z and the point you made to Tyton was spot on. But you can’t then go flippantly band female’s together as ‘those people.’ It’s as male chauvinist and patronising as it gets.

‘We need to give support to woman’s football’ should have been the sinple line.

Of course I'm condescending. 50% of all the posts this forum is people being condescending towards male players and staff. I thought the entire idea was to treat female players in the same manner as you would treat a guy.

And I don't agree that it can never be as good as guys playing. It can, but it needs 2 things - smaller goal and a smaller pitch. Right now it's an abomination just like women's basketball.

Looks like Daley Blind is going back to Holland. Shame I like him and he’s been good tbf. But it’s better for him to leave and we are getting a good fee too. In the same De Telegraph article it say Utd were that confident of getting a good fee. That it’s let them push ahead for Harry Maguire.

If if that’s true can defo see RoShaun and Tuanzebe going out on loan again and maybe selling one from last years squad. Bailly, Smalling, Jones, Rojo, Lindelöf, Maguire seems a bit much. Unless we switch to 3 at the back.

Please dont tell me you've been hoodwinked into thinking Harry Maguire would be good enough for yous lot. Turns slower than Emre Can and has the positional sense of a prime Joel Matip ( also known as the Glen Johnson of CB's). Dont be fooled just because he is decent on the ball.

Not been hoodwinked into to anything tbh. Just stating what the article was saying and backed up by Stoney from the BBC. But while we are at it I actually do like him. Is he good enough? Hard to tell without him making the step up. Do I think he can be potentials yes.

My main concern with Maguire is his pace, but look what Mourinho was able to do with Terry.

Not really sure why people question him positionally, I will admit however that I have only really watched him avidly at the World Cup and not for Leicester. But then again if there is one person who can improve that it's Jose.

I honestly have no qualms in trusting Mourinho when it comes to CB's he is usually the best in the business.

Overall I thought Maguire was the best England defender at the WC, always looked in the right place, could come out with the ball like a tank and has good passing ability. Also so dominant in the air as well.

Vidic, Pallister, Bruce wasn’t speed merchants either. I rate Maguire tbh.

Just posted by Stoney at BBC- Daley Blind to Ajax is indeed happening. £14m up to £18.5m. @ManUtd have work to do but no current plan to ignite interest in Toby Alderweireld. Shifted target.

Don't have a problem with Maguire tbh. Especially if we bin off Smalling.
