Rafael is terrible, why don't we buy a right-back?

Had a terrible performance today but you can't judge a player on one match. That too when you consider that the entire Brazilian side barring Oscar and Hulk were poor today

Yes he is.He was bad at the Olympics for Brasil, he was bad for United in the last seasons, I still can't forget what he has done in the UCL semi-final against Bayern.
United doesn't have a right-back for 2 or 3 years, we really need one !

He's had a very good tournament barring this game, much like the rest of the Brazil side.

This is nonsense, he's been very good except for the final. He was mostly injured last season, and very good season before. And he is still just 22.

Ahh even though Brazil did not play well, they could have perhaps won it if Oscar had buried the header as he should have. Still it was not their day and they were on the back foot early on in the match. Looked a different side though when Hulk came on.

And I am sure you Man Utd folk must be glad at not having to pay a crazy price for Lucas Moura. I have absolutely no idea what he has done to justify that 44m Euro move to PSG. And I thought Oscar was a tad expensive!

Hope you were watching the same Rafael we all watched for last 4 years. Even in that Bayern game he was superb then got Red for silly mistake, but before red he was superb and Ribery was quite all game.

Even in Olympics he was very good except the final game. Last season he was injured but when he played, apart from Everton game he did well. All this when he is just 22 years old.

And ManUtd fans would be creaming their pants had we linked with and signed Rafael after playing in the olympics like he did.

Agreed about Lucas, not sure how this 45 Million price tag will help his progress as everytime he plays it will be mentioned and just adds unnecessary pressure.

Yes mate, you just pointed out another problem there, he is injury prone, and if we consider that he is the only right-back in our squad this is a very big one.(Smalling played there but he is a centre back, Jones - same)
I don't have any problems with Rafael, but he isn't the right back we need, not yet maybe.

He's had two big injuries, mainly because his and his brothers accelerated work programme, have you seen how much bigger they are, they spend most of the time in the gym, since they arrived from Brazil. Its the same reason Welbeck gets lots of niggles. At 22 he is still learning, why on earth replace him?

Not sure what you meant by the first sentence mate

And yeah the Lucas transfer is crazy. Brazilian Clubs know that this is the last chance they will have of getting high prices for their players from European Clubs to the impending FFP era and are holding out for inflated sums. Moura is definitely a talented player although he has never shown the consistency and application to deserve such a big transfer

From what I know- He has an impressive array of tricks and skills which makes for great highlight reels. Perhaps he will do well in Ligue 1 for PSG but whether he will ever develop into a great player like he is made out to be is questionable

To point out that few ManUtd fans don't realize what a gem we have as RB ;)

I won't comment about his consistency as I haven't watched Brazilian league games and watched his cameos for Brazil only.

He will have tough time to break into their first 11 with the talent they have and not to forget they will keep buying every half decent player. French league is on the rise but PSG are few levels above their nearest rivals. So will have to check in champions league to rate his performance IMO.

Not necessarily replace him, but maybe buy another RB for the first 11, and keep Rafael as a back-up until he "grows" ? I already said that he is the only right-back in our squad.

Rather buy a back up for Rafael instead of Rafael being the back up, more concerned with our cover at left back anyway.

Kagawa starts as CM, good that this is just friendly. Hopefully we won't be watching one more Anderson like situation.

IMO we have quality back up in reserves in marnick vermjil belguim full back. Fergie has said wont be loaned out this season and will get some 1st team game time was excellent for reserves last season, and was good in pre-seasons he played in.

I like him, versatile too. Played few games as RW. He is a very good attacking threat and makes very good overlapping runs but I'm not sure whether he is ready for the first team and also he is defensively not that good. But everytime he gives more than 100% in every game which was very pleasing. Hopefully he makes it at United.

The only thing we need to do to Rafael, is stop giving him so much training to do, and tell him to play less aggressively in the big games.
I can see him and Valencia destroying the right.

Kagawa is playing like Scholes right now  this could actually work.

No.
Terrible first half. Passing was **** in first 30 minutes. I can't run away from feeling that Rooney would be much better CM then striker. Our defense is not aggressive, always stepping back when opp player has the ball. Due that we conceded a goal.
