No.
Terrible first half. Passing was **** in first 30 minutes. I can't run away from feeling that Rooney would be much better CM then striker. Our defense is not aggressive, always stepping back when opp player has the ball. Due that we conceded a goal.

No, Rooney does not have the positioning to be a CM.

Rooney would be total waste if played as a CM. He will be much better choice than few players but he is awesome striker and should be played as striker.

Tbh surprised to see Kagawa playing well in the deeper role but it was Carrick who is making playing the long passes as it isn't Kagawa's game. In final third Kagawa is completely different player and he proved it again. His link up play with Nani is joy to watch.

And once again Cleverley proving how much we missed him last season. Keeps it very simple and always keeps the ball moving. 9/10 times he makes the right decision. Cleverley, Carrick and Kagawa would be awesome trio along with Nani and Rooney. Has the potential to play sexy football. Also not to forget Scholes. If Welbeck is slotted in, he wouldn't look out of place either.

The issue is the lack of cover for the first two, especially Carrick. We have been very lucky he has not been injured badly. We must find cover/competition/long term replacement for him.

We do need a CM. That's so obvious. I really don't understand SAF this time :(

It's baffling. Would spend 32m on Hazard, but not 24m on Moutinho?!
I really fail to see reason why SAF overlooks some midfielders. Sahin, Vidal, Moutinho. I'm pretty sure he is aware of their availability, but for some reason he doesn't want to bid for them. For the first time in many years, I'm not optimistic for next season.

Kagawa is playing like Scholes right now  this could actually work.
Worst i seen him play on tour so far very inefective in CM role in this game was far better when was just behind rooney where he scored goal. IMO must start behind rooney at start of season!

Yeah defo need cover imo after seeing this game clevs was class and showed haow much we missed him last season CM is defo still a worry dont know about these rumours with isco? Another thing i noticed tonight was evras lack of willing to get back in defencive position.

Game made it very clear that Kagawa can operate at CM in a pinch, but is FAR more effective in his natural role. Stop ******* about with Van Persie and sign Sahin!

Evra requires a quick CB on his side, Evans basically needs to be on form all season, ditto Smalling. Or we will get destroyed.

Not heard anything about Isco, but if we dont get a centre mid of real calibre, i think we can kiss Europe goodbye, and possibly the league challenge.

I think we have already discussed this, SAF is taking risk big time. He is banking on Carrick's fitness. Yes we have Anderson Cleverley combination which worked really well but defensively we were all over the place. If Carrick is injured and we have to play big teams then it will be interesting to see how we line up.

Cover or better player to play his role is absolutely MUST, or someone who is a destroyer.

Absolutely, have genuine fears that we will not deal with this. Could be very costly.

If we sign RVP then I think we will again revert back to 4-4-2 formation as Rooney and RVP will be undroppable. RVP, Rooney, Welbeck, Hernandez, Berbatov and also Kagawa is most effective as AM/behind striker. Too many for 2 places.

We were ready to pay 30 Million on Hazard and Lucas, it's better to throw part of it on likes of Banega who are very good on the ball, can play with Carrick or in place of Carrick and a decent goal threat from midfield.

Anyone read the article in forbes about glazers selling old trafford naming rights, would post link but wont let me!:(

RVP or more likely Rooney would go wider. Lop sided 4-2-3-1.

Also I think it's mentioned we will have net spend of 40 Million apart from Kagawa and Powell. So I think we will sign at least 2 players. Maybe we would have already had we not lost our targets so maybe we will sign players who were not first choice in SAF plans.

That means Valencia or Nani will get less games. With the way things are going Nani is absolutely must along wit Kagawa. We will have some talent on bench and can change game at any moment, but still think we are taking big risk going for RVP when we have good talent in the position.
