The Manchester United Thread

Maybe this window is the "stocking up on strikers" window. Next one will be "stocking up on midfielders" window ;)

When you consider it would probably mean Kagawa plays deeper unless we play something like idk say 4-2-1-3, not to mention the money could be spent on someone like Sahin, Moutinho, it is a complete waste of money.

Then not to mention it would stall all our strikers progress such as Hernandez and Welbeck.

If, or when we sign Van Persie, I seriously doubt all three of RVP, Rooney and Kagawa will be on the pitch at the same time, unless Shinji plays in a wide position (Which he is more than capable of). With the amount of games we play, you have to understand that squad depth is key, and rotation a must. The attack should be very fluid and interchangable, with Rooney, RVP, Kagawa, Welbeck, Young and Nani all able to play anywhere along the front four.

I'd be content going into the season with the midfield options of Carrick, Scholes, Cleverley, Anderson, Fletcher (fingers crossed) and Giggs, with Tunnicliffe and Petrucci getting a few games too. I could understand us not making moves if the right players aren't available, but to miss out on Vidal, Sahin and Moutinho would be very disappointing when they have all been available.

Darren fletcher onbench for uniteds testamonial tonight SSN just reported:D

Missed the game, but we lost 2-1 with Anderson on the scoresheet. Did Fletcher get any pitch time? Heard he would possibly get 20 minutes?

Yeah he played around 30 mins and he captained the side when he came on. Got great reception from both the team fans.

That adnan lad looked well classy little player got high hopes for him, thought ando and bebe looked sharp also all the reserve players that played.

Angelo henriquez has said in an interview he will meet with sir alex today with his agent and decide what is best for me next either stay at club or loan me back to uni chile

Yeah Adnan Januzaj looked very classy on the ball, have very high hopes on him. He is just 17 but he was not afraid to ask for ball and show what he has got in his locker.

Yep. Was very impressed with his not minding to get stuck in aswell with the tackling made few crunching and slide tackles, high hopes indeed.

Glad to hear Welbecks signed a new deal and even more glad to hear Fletcher got 30mins for the reserves :)

Sahin going to Liverpool on loan? What is going on? If we miss out on Moutinho having let Vidal and now Sahin slip away, I will be livid.

i am gonna punch my laptop if i read sahin joins liverpool on loan :@.I am gonna go mad if i have to watch city make a mockery of our midfield on a derby match.

If Anderson plays like he did in preseason then at least our midfield problem will be half solved. Also Cleverley was very good against Hannover. I'm sure that's the reason why SAF is not interested in signing CM. Whether I agree with it or not is for another day, but I'm sure he feels Carrick, Scholes, Anderson, Cleverley, Giggs are more than enough.

I don't want Sabin to join us on some shifty loan deal what's the point. We need to sign aCM not loan One! Liverpool can have him and Madrid can have him back next season all Liverpool doing is doing Madrid a favour coz he not played much and won't this season either.

Pretty weird move for him. Rejects Spurs cos they are not in CL, but joins Liverpool. Don't know if United have made offer, but I'd think of our CL clubs United would be best move.

Arsenal apparently couldn't get a buy in clause in loan deal and backed out because of that. No point playing player and possibly helping him find form after bad year if we cant sign him after that.

Its more about whether Anderson can actually remain injury-free. His ability was never in doubt. Ditto for Cleverely
