The Manchester United Thread

Probably taking the bait here, but Maguire wasn't to blame for the Sevilla goals. It was actually Williams, Lindelof and AWB more than anything. Which is frustrating as Lindelof has been good but then is always prone to these moments of lapse. But the fullbacks defo needed to do better in stopping the crosses. I'm not even Maguire's biggest fan myself but thought I needed to clarify that those goals weren't on his for me.

Well then, fair play to Sevilla lol.

Indeed. Marvellous final.

I thought it was utterly mad reading folk dismissing them in here before you played them being as they've just proved again they're the best side in their competition.

6 UEFA Cuo/ Europa League's is ridiculous. That puts them double Inter, Liverpool and Juventus who lie 2nd in that trophy count on 3.

6 in the last 14 years is beyond ridiculous.

Phenomenal achievement.

The CL final Sunday has a lot to live up to.

Especially the LBs

I think PP are skitting him not having a F clue where he was on the equaliser

That whole equaliser was a shambles from front to back defensively. Never mind it should never of been there throw in

Even from that I don't see how it's Maguire's fault, any closer and he'd be on the gK's toes and the cross went to the player who Williams didn't pick up. it was poor goal to concede none the less.

He probably anticipated a cut back. Still tho, Suso was Williams' man

He patently didn't have a F clue where he was and should have cut the ball out before it got across to Suso.

That's the difference in a quality CH who reads the play and is positionally sound and a bang mediocre one.

People who defend Maguire and claim he's really good are forgetting he's the most expensive defender ever and with that you have to be value for money in some way, yet he's not even a top 10 CB in Europe, not even close.

Looks like he'll lose the captaincy over this anyway... one would imagine. You can't assault police officer and still be captain, even in Ole's eyes.

Doubt it. It’s already come out he wasn’t the one that tried to bribe the police officer it was one of his group that did. Like I said when it broke let’s wait for the facts!

Also Fergie didn’t strip Keane, Cantona etc when charged by the police and he didn’t take **** from any player. Suggest fans just calm down a bit before getting the pitchforks out.

He is good. Is he worth the fee no. Is any player no. Has he improved us yes. Simple as that really.

Source close to the investigation: “The policemen that intervened were secret police, in plain clothes, so it is possible that Maguire and his friends did not understand that they were police officers.” #muzone [@TeleFootball]

From the Telegraph article:

The bribery offence was said to relate to one of the two other men who were arrested with him in the early hours. Not Mr Maguire directly.

Also very weird from the Telegraph article that the police agreed for them to travel to the station in a local taxi alone and not a police wagon.

Of course it wasn't Maguire  sounds like his friends are taking more of the heat for him.

Or it actually wasn’t. That’s the problem when people jump on the bandwagon when an early headline breaks without without knowing the facts and what is actually happening then end up looking like idiots later on.

Talking from experience. Especially in regards to transfers ?

From the couple of clips not the best quality I’ve seen since. Maguire starts to distance himself and is on his phone in one and then in the second he’s actually covering his mate and getting kicked, seems like everyone involved got nicked and once the Greek old bill have gone through everything they’ll be no further action against Maguire but because he’s United captain the British media as per usual made a massive thing out of it.

hearing today so will find out anyway.
