we are playing Cluj though! I say this but I mean we better watch out for what happened this time last year.. Basel (clearing throat) etc.. we cannot underestimate them!

Wooton is the English Vidic and really like what I have seen from him since watching him live here in Durbs, he was classy that evening at the back and has been solid when called upon!

Buttner is a good player so far, liking his work rate! he at least gets back to defend, Evra thinks he is now the new Nani!

Fletcher was great against Newcastle the other evening, we need him to play that role from now on in all the games! play a free flowing 442 diamond!

I expect nothing less than a Utd win tbh. I mean shocks do happen, but after what happened during the weekend they'll want to make someone cannon fodder.

What's the latest on Smalling? When's he back?

No idea, same goes for Jones! Just glad Anderson is playing well again, always had faith in him! pity about Vidic though.. we are struggling at the back, surprised Fergie did not select Carrick in case of an injury or two in CB...

Oh god not this again?

Indeed, its actually done to death.

Not going to bother about Dembele, as its been done to death and as pointed out by many stats, performances etc. he is a great player, but not the complete package or even the right player.

Amazingly the one Spurs midfielder who would be the perfect answer hasnt even been mentioned:

Sandro. He is the exact technical, aggressive, mobile, hard-working, defensively immense ball winning (and ball playing) midfielder that United need to find. He plays with a style and ability akin to Hargreaves, who was probably the best player of his type we had in recent years.

Him and Gallas kept Spurs in the match in the 2nd half. If Sandro hadn't of been there it may well have been a very different outcome-worked his **** off big time, even when he struggled against Utd's tide.

He was immense. Dembele may be more exciting, but Sandro was the key to holding us back.

Agreed, we need a holding midfielder and not a box-to-box type.

Without doubt. Strong, high stamina and work rate, can start offensive movements...there's very little he can't do imo. Go as far to say a complete midfielder

Sandro: 86% pass success, SEVEN tackles, four interceptions, six clearances, one key pass. In other words, exactly what United could do with.

Nail hit on the statistical head. Which is why we should be going after Sven Bender in January. One can dream...

but would spurs sell him?

Not in a million years. AVB actually realises he is brilliant, and isn't playing him just cos his mate Scotty P is injured, unlike a certain Redknapp senior.

People can go on about Sandro but he was not available. So not sure why they are discussing about him. We missed player who was available and who could have improved us.

He isn't mentioned because at no point he was up for sale. There are many midfielders who will improve us, but it's not worthy of a discussion aslong as they are not for sale.

You can argue with any stats you want, Dembele would have improved us easily.

Jones could be retrained to be that type of player.. but we do need a good ball winner/playmaker!

Yann M'Vila would be a great addition to the squad!
