The Manchester United Thread

Second half of last season and 2010-11 season, Valencia was irreplaceable, probably first name on the team sheet during second half of last season.

His form has been down whole season hence he is hardly key player. The two players we are gonna miss are anderson and vidic. The defence is in **** form hence vidic and anderson would have provided that fast link up play between midfield and our key players Rooney and Persie. The match will be close no doubt about it.

Even when he isn't in his top form he is still better than Nani or Young, and since they are the only natural wingers we have(Giggs can't be mentioned), then yes, he is a key player for me.This discussion is pointless anyway, if we beat City tomorow I don't even care who plays.

Have you even been watching Valencia the past few games? At least Nani out of form will still attempt to take his man on and attempt things. Valencia recently has been receiving the ball on the wing and then just instantly passing it back.

Yeah agreed, out of form Nani still creates goal scoring chances but out of form Valencia can only receive pass, pause for 4-5 seconds and pass it back to RB or nearest player without even attempting to beat the FB.

Even in this bad form he still assisted the second goal against Chelsea and obtained a penalty that wasn't given when Luiz stopped a cross with his hand.He also obtained the penalty when we played at Anfield after he sprinted for about 50 or 60 yards.
We must support him and hope that he will regain his form, because we really need Valencia in his top form for the upcoming months.

He's basically playing like Downing at the moment.

Opinion on Valencia in this forum seems to swing wildly between "key player, one of our best, one of the best wingers in the Prem" to "he's awful, play Young and Nani, anything but him". I think he's somewhere in between, personally.

Except you didn't pay shitloads to Villa for an average player like Liverpool did.

Oh wait, Ashley Young.

This will sound completely bizarre and off topic, but has anyone watched La Liga this season and noticed (wait for it...) THE RISE OF MANUCHO?

De Gea - Rafael, Rio, Evans, Evra - Valencia, Cleverley, Carrick, Young - Rooney, RVP

I am just wondering whether Vidic would of been worth putting in... he is by far our best Centre- Back.

Evans in big matches is a scary thought.Got a feeling it will have some good amount of goals.

he was a monster vs Madrid.

He's been very good this season. 9 starts, 6 goals, three assists and a whooping 7.7 aerial duels won per game, third best in Europe behind Carroll and Crouch - but Manucho has more goals and assists than those two combined, having played fewer games. Two years ago, he was deemed "not good enough for the turkish second division", and surplus to requirements at Valladolid. Talk about a change in fortunes...

You're from Argentina, right. Have you heard about Barcos? I bet you did. 5 years ago ( or something like that) he played for Red Star in Serbia. He was so poor, static, probably worst player in the league ( and it was **** league, **** **** league). And look at him now, I think he's about to win Argentina call.

Not every player hits their stride straight away, despite what pundits say. Very happy for him, never quite made it here, but you could see makings of a decent player. But he is certainly more than that now.

Yeah, I do, and I knew, he started playing for Racing and couldn't get a game in a team that was battling relegation for half a decade, and now has a handful of caps...

Who would have predicted this ! Loving it and Mancini face after the goal is epic.
