The Manchester United Thread

Agreed, going 2-0 down to Man Utd before half-time is pretty much making your own death sentence.

3-2. Should of been 3 had it not been for a wrongly given offside.

I hope that Man City fan that threw a coin and the one that came on the pitch gets banned for life though.

We get all the decisions. Clear goal and penalty denied but still won, that's why decisions against United won't make headlines.

Was touching cloth for a while there.

Best performance of season, Rooney superb, Valencia and Young look like they're returning to something resembling wingers. Carrick bossed the midfield. 6 points clear. Good times.

**** off city.

Oooooohhhhh Robiiiiiin vaaaaaan Persieeeeeeeeeee !!!

I thought Valencia was awful. His touch was poor on numerous occasions and he slowed it down far too often on the counter when he should have been taking on his man.

Rio was immense at the back, he got tight to Aguero and Tevez superbly and stopped them turning. Distribution was good too, although there was one heart in mouth moment!

Excellent first half but we certainly didn't make the most of some good counter attacking opportunities in the second half. Still, dug our heels in well against a top side and got a crucial win.

Disagree there, Valencia played very well and had a variation in his game and definitely played his part in a great Manchester United performance.

City had the better of it at the end but we completely were in control up to the 'offside' goal where it should of been 3-0 to us. RVP deserved that luck with the free-kick, he was brilliant today and that strike what hit the bar deserved to be a goal.

Valencia was poor offensively and gave the ball away too often.

No key passes and dispossesed more than any other player, with 5 turnovers.

Also, 5 opportunities to cross (where he chose to - there were others where he wrongly opted to turn back) and none were accurate. No accurate through balls either.

Has to be said, though. There was no need to try and wind up fans like that. Players should know by now that it takes a single idiot among thousands of fans to ruin a football game.

When Ferdinand was celebrating after United got the 3rd did he hit himself in the face or get hit by a lighter or something?

They should and will get fined for it and both the person who entered the pitch above (who looks like an absolute mug) and the person who threw the coin will rightfully be banned but.....In my opinion the situation could have been avoided by Rio not celebrating in front of the City fans, he is an experienced player and should know better. It was also something i bought up about Hernandez in the who Clattenburg game vs Chelsea. He celebrated right infront of the Chelsea fans gestering his "C" celebration to the Chelsea crowed and a steward got hurt and was taken to hospital. Now before i get it from all angles i am not condoning the actions from the fans in both incidents but players can help the situation.
