The Manchester United Thread

Forget Zaha people, what about the Wanyama stories, if we did get him it would be the buy of the last 2/3 seasons for us, unless you count RVP but he wasn't ultra needed at the time like Wanyama would be.
Would be very happy with this transfer but sure i read somewhere if deal not completed by friday he would not be able to sign till summer because of his nationality or something like that, so looks unlikely to happen this window.

However, Sky Sports understands that, because Wanyama is Kenyan, his work permit, which is more than likely to be granted, would need to go to appeal as his country are ranked outside the world's top 70, which is a criteria set in the UK.
So, in order to finalise a deal for Wanyama, a bid would need to be made prior to next Thursday's deadline and most likely by the weekend to give the process enough time to be completed

I don't think we have a chance of signing Wanyama over the last few days of the window, but these stories popping up over the past couple of days have given me hope that we may sign him in the summer. If we get Strootman or Wanyama (or both :D) our problems in midfield would be over.

As for Zaha, I'm still not happy with the price but I am warming to the transfer...I just hope it doesn't mean Nani's leaving.

tbh i think it's to add abit more competition for the wings because recently our wingers haven't been fantastic and also a warning to nani that sign the contract and buck up because in effect they have already got a replacement now

I think it its to put pressure on our wingers. They have been really poor and its hurt us badly. If our wingers were in form we would have been countering against Spurs rather than sitting and soaking loads of pressure.

Considering Wanyama is at Celtic, im pretty sure we would win any appeal as he is in the UK already.

Am I the only one getting a C.Ronaldo vibe from Zaha? He's got the tricks and pace, just lacks the ending product. Same as what Ronaldo had.

Correct me if I'm just not over C.Ronaldo being a Man Utd player yet :(

tbh i cant really agree with you about your vibe. i can see zaha being a good signing after being developed properly but tbh not in the same league or near ronaldo

seen a quoting of fergie replying "I'm not getting into that at all. You have to listen to some idiots in the game" when asked about Neville's comments about de gea

Zaha could be something huge at United, he is very much a raw package at the moment though.

However when Ronaldo came to United he was relatively unknown and had 25 appearences with only 3 goals. I think we can safely say he was one of our best buys ever.

Asked about what Richard Keys said about Neville, not what Neville said about de Gea

dissapointed with the signing of zaha money would have been better spent signing a CM, and the fact that it is zaha who after seeing many games of his and a little extra research of his best on youtube looks to be a truly uninspiring signings ... :(

No where near the quality of ronaldo or nani at his best. i wish someone could just slap nani and tell him to be more consistant :)

A lot of people have the talent but almost no one has Ronaldo's crazy work ethic. If i worked half as hard as this guy does i would be president of the planet by now.

See macheda loan deal could lead to permanent signing according to stuggart manager it has been verbaly agreed. I am happy with zaha signing get just exited about future prospects as do big name signing. defo has potential to be star of future for united, maybe a season on loan to prem club next season would be good or good league in europe.

Zaha in my view has the potential to be better than Nani so I don't think you have researched enough. However Ronaldo is literally one of two greatest players in the world currently so I wouldn't say Zaha could get to his level, as that would be naive.

He's nothing like Ronaldo.

Stop the presses! 20 year old Championship player in "not as good as Ronaldo" shocker!

...I just realised I'm going to have to spend the next six months shouting at morons when Zaha doesn't turn out to be better than Messi on his first appearance. Sigh. Why couldn't he have taken the Victor Moses approach and joined Wigan quietly?

That's the way to welcome a new signing. 20 year old player was just signed who will be joining in july but some people are already with "Not sure he is good enough for ManUtd" posts.

This is really simple, Fergie gets it spot on more often than not when it comes to GB players. When one of the best manager wants to buy a player (with agreeing clauses like loaning him back) that says how highly he is rated by our staff.

I will hold up my hand and say apart from the game against us I haven't seen even a single min of his game but after watching few of his best youtube videos (yes Youtube and shut up with Youtube is not the best way to judge the player as the skills performed are done by him and not FIFA simulation. Not the best way but still at least you get an idea what sort of player he is) I have to say it was easy why we were so eager to close out the deal.

We need a player with trickery, direct player who is not afraid to take on full backs. For some reasons Young is not doing that and Valencia forgot what that even means. That leaves us with only Nani whose future is undecided. So we need a player who can come up with moment of magic and hopefully he is the player who can provide that spark.

Has everyone forgotten it took Nani FOUR YEARS to start really producing? Lets not knck a raw 20 year old just yet. Jesus.

Anyone fancy Clattenburg getting another one month ban? Abysmal ref.

At least it wasn't Liverpool who bought a 20 year old for £15million. Imagine the never ending jokes!
