World ******* class how many keepers in world would have saved that!?

Should have listened to the commentators and so called pundits. They said De Gea was well beaten and not a mention of he got finger tips to it to save it.

I wanted to kick Paul Parker (ex ManUtd player) in the nuts. ******* pathetic pundit, tries to be overly unbiased so everytime has a go at ManUtd player. Shame it was De Gea this week.

Yeah, those keepers flaps most of the crosses but not a word will be said but if De Gea flaps one cross and even if it don't result in goal they will still have a go at him. It's seriously beyond joke now.

Against Southampton, De Gea had no chance at all to save that goal as any contact with player would have resulted in penalty and red card, but it was De Gea was not brave enough. Carrick should take most of the blame but still De Gea was not brave. Today Joe Hart made a mess and allowed Sturridge a free shot which Zabaleta saved and not a word on how Joe Hart ****** it up.

Good thing is De Gea is not fazed by all these bs articles and media attention at all, he is ever improving and he has all the support of Fergie and his teammates.

As much as I believe De Gea looks a bit dodgy at times I tihnk Fulham deserved at least a point from that game and they would've gotten it if it wasn't for his goalkeeping heroics.

As a neutral i have to point out its not some kind of ill will towards De Gea. Its just that he has a lot bigger shoes to fill than most. Last 20 years United almost always had unmovable wall instead of goalkeeper. Its just framed into people's head.

So when new guy comes a long and isn't at the very least ultimate god of goalkeeping, everyone is going "who's this ******* kid, give me Peter Schmeichel".

Having watched some of the flappiness of keepers this season, no doubt he gets far too much stick for what he does.

To be honest, the same people should wake up and realise that Schmeichel was 27 when he arrived, and he had two and half dodgy seasons before he came good.

Just look at Reina and de Gea looks like the second coming of Lev ******* Yashin

Al Habsi is the most error prone player in the league. You'd think its De Gea the way some act.

I have to say, I have complete faith in De Gea as Man U's GK and I personally think he has the best reflex's of any, if not most in the EPL. As a 22 year old Gk he is not going to be the amazing star Gk as his predaccessors such as VDS or Schmicheal, but give him a few years to get used to the style and he will be one of the best siginings Fergie will have made as he has nearly 2 decades of being at the top if we go by VDS record when he retired.
He will come good 100%, we just need to show him the faith he deserves.
Finally it's disgusting how any mistake he makes is magnified by very poor pundits on sky, espn etc, which then makes the general population magnify his mistake so it appears he ****** "mucked" up at a cup final game when he only just had a minor error that is made by other GK in the EPL week in week out.
Rant over :p

You've not actually shown any reason why. Its nothing to do with butthurt, that's just a lazy point to make. You assert something, back it up with some reasoning then.

Terry was better than Rio in the air

Rio was better on the ground, with the ball at his feet and also a quicker player.

Rio had a better complete game whereas Terry always had pace as a weakness. Though he was very very good at covering for it until recent years.

I don't have to go into individual attributes, we're not playing football manager here.

At the end of the day it goes down to who would you rather have. All the United fans will say Rio, all the chelsea fans will say JT, so they don't count. The majority of the neutrals will say JT. And that's a fackt.

Really? Why would the majority of neutrals say Terry? I think you're talking out of your **** there, I'd definitely say Rio.

You make an assertion why one player is better than another, so how they actually perform is pretty key to justifying that

Who you would rather have isnt anything to who is the better player is it though? So you haven't actually got any reasoning why, or even anything to back that up that assumption.

At no point have you said why one is better than the other. Weak argument.

I don't think most neutrals would say JT but saying that i do think peoples personal view on his would cloud a fair judgement. As Mike said earlier both were good at things the other wasn't. One thing is for sure is that they were both sensational centre backs in their prime, lets just say that shall we lol.

Having said that, it was never the worst choice to make. Which world class defender did you want?

One of the best partnerships we ever had. Which makes how it ended particularly sad.

As others have said they complemented each other brilliantly and possessed different strengths and weaknesses. JT was as brave and strong as they come and was a massive threat at attacking set pieces. Rio was quick and read the game superbly as well as being very comfortable on the ball. If I had to choose between them I would probably have Rio purely because CBs who were as good on the ball as Rio were (and still are) so rare in this country.

Rio at his peak was an absolute Rolls Royce of a defender. He was one of the most complete defender, his reading of the game was just brilliant. He didn't put his body on line like Vidic or Terry but he was very good in the air, not hard for 6.5 feet tall CB.

Now he is completely different CB as he lost yard of pace (still lot quicker than most of the CBs in the league) and his back problem, he has adapted his game brilliantly. His performance against Liverpool at Anfield was epic, Suarez didn't get a chance on goal and also his performance against Fulham on Saturday.

Terry was one of the best CB in the world for about 5 years and one of the most consistent player. It's just personal preference on whom you prefer in your team.

Now England had Neville Rio Terry Cole in the back 4, with Lampard, Gerrard, Beckham, Scholes, Owen, Rooney at one point of time. Well Rio missed Euro 04 but Campbell was there who was one of the best CB in the PL history. What a team that was. So many world class players.
