The Manchester United Thread

Does anyone know who won the man of that match award? I mean I know Jones, Welbeck. Evans, maybe Ferdie and De Gea(what a superb display he had last night),but who actually won it?

David De Gea..... that save once again.... absolutely mental.

Still, it is anyone's game though, I think we shown them too much respect and I am glad Fergie noticed this by saying after that we stood off way to much, which we did.

Also I still find it concerning when we are Manchester United and are playing two strikers as wing options against Real Madrid. In my opinion we should of took the game more to them. Having said that RVP's second miss after he hit the bar was really awful, if he got any solid contact it was 2-1.

Finally I think Varane was lucky to stay on the pitch, he clearly held Evra back and the ref bottled it because it would of been a red card, but it was a clear foul, Evra would have no reason to go down when he is through on goal.

We are Manchester United, we should go at them was so 90s. We play sensibly now giving credit where it is due. You should respect team like Madrid or we get one more 6-1 pounding.

I think it ended up balancing out in the end. I have to say, Jones seemed to get away with a lot of shoving and shoulder barging last night, which was weird because numerous Madrid players were penalised for the same sort of offence.

All in all though, I can't believe that the first thing you have to say after that great game is something about the ref.

Ref was awful yesterday tbh.

RVP got yellow for nothing, it was given as Ramos rolled all over the pitch.
Then Ramos got away with blatant elbow on Evans.
Di Maria should have got penalty
Varane should have been off as he was last man and it was clear foul on Evra
Not allowing to take corner kick at the end of the game.

Yes what the actual ****... I was ****** at that decision. There was 3 minutes stoppage time.... so play the ****** corner as there was only 2.51 minutes into the stoppage time and the corner taker was ready. Ridiculous refereeing yesterday and bottled it at the end incase we scored on another corner.

The **** are you looking at?!

Watching Zaha against Misslesbrough. Had very good first half. Played as RW and LW (swapped wings very frequently) created very good chances. Beats full back with ease and most of the times he makes right choices (at least in the first half).

In the first 22 mins he should have had 3 assists but had only 1. Looks very promising.

If we beat Reading then Chelsea or Boro at home in the next round.

Drawn a PL team 8 times in a row (Assuming Chelsea don't **** it up). Conspiracy, Gilluminati needs to step his game on the FA board.

And 23 out of last 28. Chances of giving any meaningful mins for youngsters is gone for one more year.. :(

Not to happy how much playing time henriguez is gettin at wigan! Thought he might of played today.:(

Was looking forward to watching Cleverley and Anderson but they've disappointed a little tonight. Hernandez isn;t really offering much and as a partnership he and Welbeck are not really working. Need a linking player as Welbeck is better running the channels. Good to see Nani come on and provide a spark, just hope Jones' injury's not a bad one

No suprises there then, Anderson is just not of the class a United central midfielder should be. Really hope unless he puts in a very good end to the season with the chances he does get... we sell him and replace with some proven quality.

He's got the class and ability, his concentration just lets him down a lot though. You can see from his build that he's the type of player that needs constant games (a bit like Rooney) and he's just not had them. From what I understand, he took a long time to grasp the language, otherwise I'm sure he'd have spent some time on loan. Fingers crossed he can stay fit until the end of the season and show his worth.

Sorry by class I kind of meant all round package like fitness, hardwork, consistency and obviously the ability he possesses.

No doubt the ability is there but I am still not convinced by Fergie's decision to move him to a Central Midfield position. Anderson for what ever reason doesn't look near fit enough to play as you would expect of a United player, whether that is down to lack of games or what ever but for example look at Giggs... he plays here and there now but still fit as a fiddle so that leads me on to my next point about Anderson's work rate off the field. Is he motivated enough at keeping himself fit in training and working hard to impress Fergie to get more starts? Judging the latter I would say he is not.
