The Manchester United Thread

Meh, Mancini declared publicly his interest in RVP last season. It means nothing until he's stood next to Guardiola in the land of beer and sauerkraut.

Sometimes even that is not enough.

I don't see the sense, and talking to another Bayern fan, he doesnt see the sense.

That said, Thiago has the potential to be as good/better than Xavi/Scholes.

As for midfielders in general, only panic if the window closes and its still the same. I agree, we dont want to go into next season with the same mid, but its far from over in terms of business.

Pep said he explained to the board on how he will be using the players.

I just can't see how he will get regular games unless he moves Martinez to the defense which will be one of the most idiotic things you can do. Martinez was arguable the best DM last season and the double pivot of Schweinsteiger and Martinez was superb defensively and very solid attacking unit. Why would any manager want to disrupt the pair when you can't find a better midfield duo than them that can offer such a stability to the team?

Indeed. Thiago may be talented all right, but at any position in central midfield he would basically be reduced to 3rd choice. Although after what Bayern did last season I can imagine why players would want to sacrifice anything just for a chance to play there.

If he goes to Bayern it will be so beautiful. Watching Mike's dreams be crushed is in my top 3 favourite things to do.

Would have been a good winger for us, shame he never got the chance for whatever reason. He did well enough at Koln.

Obviously didn't impress the coaches that much.. Either that or the £8m waved in United's faces was enough to convince them into shipping him out. Not a bad price.

Bit of both I suspect, was decent. but £8m was a good fee.

Rooney flying back to England due to injury. Going to be a **** load of transfer rumours popping up now.

Rooney probably drink too much and idiot injured himself. We should sell him and that chubby ****** Anderson. Bring Scholes back from retirement and play him with Giggs in the midfield of two. **** we can even buy Fellaini for some physical presence in the midfield.

Now I know how Arsenal fans fell every summer.

YOUR SADNESS NOURISHES ME

Why am I thinking that Rooney is far from injured?

Dunno. But selling him anything under 25 mil would be unthinkable, and with anything over 30 United would be a better team for it.

It's a grade II injury, which is a bad hamstring injury to have, and not one you'd pick to have as a fake if we're thining down that route. Also been confirmed as a genuine injury. I'd rather he was feigning, at least he would be fit.
