Poor David Ge Gea:

Why would we fly him to Bangkok just to fly him straight back? Unless our last hurrah is to jet lag the **** out of him.

Yeah - because professional footballers train in socks and sandles...

I know, but people would rather skip the common sense and go straight to conspiracy theory. Ridic.

Coming from someone who spaffs himself every time United are linked to someone by Tancredi Palmeri on Twitter?

Well, there is not much more we could offer. He would be first choice. 5 year contract worth 120k a week.

I'd imagine manager situation is not helping either. I mean, a chance to work with Ferguson had to be your biggest pull on players. First transfer window might turn out tough on Moyes.

I think it would have been less of an issue, if the opposing manager wasn't Pep. Given the level of players we are trying to target though, I agree. The first leading signing will be the hardest, I suspect the reason the club tunnelvisioned on Thiago, is that he is the complete mid signing, he's well priced, going to be one of the best mids in the world and its a massive statement "we can pull the young star from the most successful team in the world".

He's flavour of the month. Makes Moyes look like a fantastic manager if he can sign the guy everyone's talking about.. Although, if they've lost out to Bayern (which I can't see happening) it will be awfully embarrassing!

How would losing out to Bayern be embarrassing in the slightest? European Champions, hammering arguably the best team ever on the way. One of the best teams in the world. If you think Thiago is flavour of the month, you have virtually no idea about his ability then.

I meant, after weeks of "Thiago to United" reports.. would be pretty sobering for Bayern to just palm United out of the transfer without even really trying.

And I'm not doubting his ability at all.

We've agreed a deal already though. It's all up to him now, he simply has to choose. It's hardly without effort from Bayern.

Need to replace Fletcher. That should be priority right now.

I don't think it is a matter of replacing Fletcher, it's a matter of getting a new, top quality MC, which we would need even if Fletcher was fit to play. After Carrick, Fletcher is our best midfielder. We need to be replacing the likes of Anderson. Fletcher isn't even injury prone, he has just been seriously ill. Hopefully when he comes back he will be back to his best.

Have we actually agreed a deal (is this a personal contract deal? Or a deal has been agreed with Barca and know we need to complete personal terms?)? Has it been confirmed by United or is it just what majority of media outlets are saying?

On a seperate note, : Everton are bracing themselves for a £40million double bid from United forMarouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines. According to the gossip page from the Man U website. Personally hope this is just that, gossip. I would hate it if we spent 40million on those two. I mean Fellaini is a good player, but there are way better targets out there both younger and cheaper with more potential. And Baines is fantastic but we have Evra and Baines' age is a problem IMO.

Do you any proof to back up your point? Bayern didn't just come out of nowhere and brushed off United. They were linked as much we were but we were odds on favorite from day 1. Palmeri tweeted that some media reported Thiago to Bayern 3 weeks back, so it's not just 1 or 2 days work.

From what's reported, both have made acceptable offers for him and its up to him to make the decision. It's not embarrassing that he wants to play for the coach who worked with him since he was 14/15 years old and Pep was a huge influence in his life and career.
