The Manchester United Thread

Awful so far, the actual team looks pretty shocking on paper when you consider we are meant to be a European top team. Just as I say it we have deservedly gone behind again.

Ive just put £20 on United to pull it round in play... Returns £52, one of the time i'll be hoping for a United win here!

Based off pre-season? Have you gone mental? We dont usually do well pre season anyway
Yes, I have gone mental. We usually play solid football in pre season, this has no head or tails.

In the last 10 - 15 mins we played some good stuff. Before that we were standing off way too much and didn't show anything really. The difference a certain Cesc Fabregas would do to our team would be dreamable.

No, not we dont, nor is the quality even relevant. Can barely judge our season after 15 games, how the **** can you judge in the middle of pre-season? Even the charity shield is no real barometer for the season.

It's called prediction. I'll judge our season when it ends. League =/= pre season, I know that. But this doesn't look good.

Scoring goals was never a problem. Problem was preventing opps from playing their game and dictating the tempo. Yes, Kagawa - Giggs - RVP had sexy touches and RVP should've score 2, but he didn't. You can call it lack of match fitness and it probably is.

You're predicting from pretty shoddy grounding, which kinda makes it moot. Like saying were going to dominate because of the win vs the all stars. We usually play quite poorly in pre-season, might win more than we lose, but we havent blitzed a pre season since 11/12. So if you know league =/= pre season, whats all the hand wringing for?

Kagawa missed a penalty. I'm pretty sure we'll never score a penalty ever again.

That's how I make posts in this thread, right?

Prediction has %, usually 50-50 from neutral point. Then you add all sort of factors and then the odds starting to shape. All this games during pre season so far gave me opinion to say that I predict a bad start. It might turn out well, and I think it will eventually, but unless Moyes finds the way to shut down opponents from dominating the midfield, it's going to be tough.

How many pens did we miss last season, 3-4? When we know that, we can assume we will never sing contract with Eric Djemba Djemba again.

Out of blue, Djemba Djemba now played for my two favorite clubs. Great.

They're playing in 30+ degrees heat in incredibly humid conditions. Not exactly conducive to being able to shut down midfield.

That's you're excuse? Maybe we should blame the stars next time we lose.
Btw, I'm not being serious with this one.
Yes, weather conditions are bad, but still, at least some defensive contributuion from midfielders would be swell.
