The Manchester United Thread

******* ****, the overreaction on twitter and other forums is just OTT. When was the last time we played well at Anfield? Since 08-09 they have done us a lot and only change was today they created **** all and RVP didn't convert the half chance.

Our midfield is still poor though, but sort of positive how we made Liverpool defend so deep in the whole second half, only if we were able to create few more chances.

Only positive I saw was what I predicted before the game on here. Valencia as a Right Back is a better player. But he can't stay there because of Rafael.

Got to be honest though, I thought we were absolutely shocking, I think this was the type of game if you had Fergie you would actually get something out of it. #FergieFactor

Yeh well the midfield... pfft.

From what people who've actually watched him regularly say, he's exactly what we need.

From what I have heard about him, he is exactly what we need. All round midfielder who adds both offensively and defensively.

3-1 at Anfield in 2010-11 season
1-1 at Anfield in 2011-12 season only to be saved by De Gea heroics.
2-1 at Anfield in 2008-09
2-0 at Anfield in 2009-10 season.

A Ferige team hasn't played well at Anfield for 5+ years.

We've the same points we had at this point last year after a much more difficult start. The ability to panic and scapegoat after one bad result amongst United fans is unreal.

Doesn't matter.... think back to the Chelsea game..... then this one. Fergie knows how to get points when we're playing shocking. Also why didn't you include last year? ....

Did you watch that game? Even with 10 men Liverpool were better and it was some tactical masterstroke that won the game. Rafael's brilliance and Valencia's agility won the game.

Last season is bad to be compared to. I wouldn't rely on having the same fortune as last year (ok you can argue you make your own luck, but we came back so many times, title rivals were really poor etc etc).

Anyone would be forgiven for thinking we never, ever drew or lost games under Fergie. Especially our biggest games in the calendar. Shock horror.

So? Did we get 3 points out of a game we shouldn't of won? The answer is yes.

This year we got 0 points out of a match we shouldn't of won. That's my point.

We beat Swansea away this year. We drew last year after a poor performance.

It doesn't mean we can't criticise this performance because of what happened previous to this. The performance was generally shocking, if it was at Anfield or at another match I would still look at it the same. Why should we write this performance off as just one of another because it was at Anfield? We were poor at home to Chelsea as well.

That depends on the players too. For example, RVP could have scored that chance and we would have walked away with point.

Still very early in the season, I just wish fans have some patience. Fergie was one off and it's depressing that his name is mentioned everytime we drop points.

Sorry, I thought we were making meaningless comparisons to last season on a limited number of games.

I'm not saying we didn't play poor. I'm saying that the "if we had Fergie, this would NEVER happen" is absolute bollocks.

I'm generally a patient person, but if I can't be frustrated on here then where can I be! We didn't even give Liverpool a hard game, which is the most annoying thing of all. We had no penetration, we didn't look like we wanted to do anything with the ball.

Fair play to Moyes, you lot actually got out and tried to pass it today. Last few years under Fergie it was more of a 'sit back and defend' game. Though, that may be because you were down so early

Tried being the key word there in the first half.

With Rooney back to his best and Kagawa we will be grand. Just need Rafael, Rooney, Kagawa, Nani back to full fitness and we will be watching completely different team.

Today Moyes was shocking with his subs. Young was at least contributing something but he was off instead of Giggs. How Giggs starts every game and play so many mins is beyond me. Hopefully Moyes just cut of that part, no need to play Giggs everytime. Kagawa for half time and Nani for half time would have been better than Giggs who contributed **** all and lost possession everyime.

Young just looked like he didn't want to be there and was waiting for Evra to help him. He was still our best crosser though. Kagawa surely must not be fit, to start Giggs ahead of him let alone not have him on the bench is criminal if not.

I have heard reports from Sky Sports and Talk Sport radio that United are going to unveil Fellaini and Baines tomorrow. Also the fact that there were barely any executives in the executives seating today may suggest that they are busy with something big, possibly.

I don't know man, Moyes saying he had one spot for Nani or Kagawa and he chose Nani was just depressing to read. I'm not in Kagawa should be played brigade but how can Moyes justify leaving Kagawa out and Nani in when Nani was just coming back from injury. At least he should have been on the bench.
