Perhaps I should clarify a little:
1. I see Hernandez as a limited player as the other options at the club are RVP and Rooney, and whilst not purely a box player as in the classic 9 role, he has certainly broadened his game (as you must these days), but not the point of giving him a chance to start over better, more rounded players. If he's going to become a starter, he is going to have to produce in the opportunities he does get, which is largely focused around box play since that appears to be how he is used.

2. The comparison was made between him and Solskjaer as they both play with anticipation and positioning as the forefront of their game. I don't see them as particularly skilful, it is all about being in the right place at the right time. I certainly was not under rating Solskjaer, to do so would be to deny him his proper place, which is in my view one of the best strikers who has played for the club, certainly the most clinical. The reason I mentioned limited is the application of Solskjaer in a managerial sense was largely as an impact sub in order to nick points, quite because he was able to concentrate so well on getting on the end of passes and produce the goods (though he does have other aspects to his game). Hernandez would seemingly do well if he excelled in this limited role and made it his own. I'm aware Ole led the line for several groups of games, and he performed well from what I have seen, but returned to his 'impact' role when the first choice starters returned.
3. If he's able to link up these days then fantastic, I simply havn't seen it, mainly as recently watching Utd has been a bit of a chore, although I do try to keep up with all top sides when I get a chance. Obviously he isn't going to move to a club like United and not grow as a player. I think he's an exciting player to watch though, he always looks full of energy, which as a fan is what you want to see.
