The Manchester United Thread

A midfield of winger who's 40, chubby Brazilian, centreback, mix of defensive midfielder and oak tree plus Cleverley and Carrick and we're 8 points of 1st? In our first season without SAF? I think that's decent at least.

I was about to ask who the defensive midfielder/oak tree was, then remembered you signed Fellaini. I had genuinely forgotten he was in your squad.

Dude we've played at about 1/4 of our potential at best and yet we're still in with a shout of title contenders. Plus, we've arguably just gone through the most difficult managerial transition that any club in the world has had to deal with.

Most of top 5 had major problems in the summer and they're still higher then you.

But none had as bigger problem as ManUtd replacing arguably the best ever manager who was ManUtd.

The problem is as big as you make it.

If Moyes would've made some transfers-in and some less transfersoaps (Fabregas) then, imo, there wouldn't be any major problem for ManUtd.

That's easy to say but United were always in for a rough season unless things went their way.
Nothing against Moyes but for a team to lose a manager like SAF and then have to go into a new season under new management with a less than ideal team it was always going to be rough.
SAF dragged every last bit out of teams and knew how to get them to fight for a win that didn't look like it was coming, they're missing that at the moment.

By that logic, though, you could also argue that United would be in a better position than other clubs because of the good work done by "arguably the best ever manager". True, the pressure would be immense for Moyes, but I think people are exaggerating the problem.

No because for the first time in years we had to change almost whole backroom staff along with Manager and also new CEO.

I was just playing devil's advocate - I myself believe that he's been put into a difficult position, albeit one which is exaggerated by many.

No we didnt! Its just that Moyes in his "wisdom" decided to get rid of PROVEN back room staff to bring in people who's only distinction was that they knew him! I mean I can understand bringing in your own No2 but Meulensteen and Steele at least should not have left.

I'm starting to think more and more that an exchange for Reus with Kagawa makes more and more sense. Kagawa to me with Rooney in the side is always going to be a player being played out of position, so why keep him??... because Rooney gets picked over him every time? (Deservedly so, when he's in this form he is one of greatest players in the world).

Dortmund would have to be mad to agree to it, though. Kagawa is a very good player; but Reus is better.

Think Man Utd should feel hard done by... Lloris should have been sent off and that should have been a pen although Spurs for their part should have been 3 up by half time

Nothing to feel hard done by, dominated without actually creating. Not good enough. No excuses.

Hmm I agree but Lloris was very very lucky to be on the pitch at the end of the match anyways, should have been a draw at the very least

Disgusting.... Evra's positioning is so all over the place, idk what is happening with him anymore, we are desperate in a few key positions though.

This transfer window is a must to improve, I don't care about the last 6 games, we got lucky in a lot of them and definitely weren't regaining some clinical form. Where is the Keane in our team? Where is the great winger? Where is the solid rock at the back?

he should have been sent off and it was a penalty ( awful call) but we dominated and simply didnt do enough with it, and then made bad defensive mistakes to make it worse.

So basically you didn't deserve anything on the balance of play? Fair play mate
