Team vs Sunderland? I'd like to see:
DDG
Rafael, Evans, Jones, Evra (If fit)
Carrick, Fletcher
Young, Kagawa, Januzaj
Chicharito

No need to rest anyone really given no game on the weekend. Although Welbecks been playing well i'm not a big fan of him playing at home, he seems much more effective away from home when the opposition defend higher up. Chicharito deserves a start as well.

Marquee signing. Show of strength. Whether we NEED him or not doesn't matter, but does he improve our current team? Yes. With our current finances we can easily afford ?37m for Mata and still buy what we actually need, plus change. We never needed RVP, but he pushed us to the title. We don't need Mata either, but he's a genuinely world class player, coming into his prime, who has everything to play for with the WC coming up. RVP pushed us to the title, Mata could well push us to the top 4. Tactically? It's not beyond the realm of possibility that we just change to a 4-3-3.

Yeh but lets admit it here.... ?37m could be much better spent than on Mata. We really don't need him. Why not Gundogan? Pjanic? Cabaye? Shaw? All of them are much more necessary and important than Mata... would be nonsense signing him.

Not 100% sure. My point is if we're gonna splash silly cash for a player, why not do it for someone who we need, particularly a CM. I'd rather see us throw a ?37m bid at Gundogan. Just don't get how Mata makes sense, it's just another square peg in a round hole, our squad has enough of them.

Because transfer negotiations aren't that simple, it's pretty well documented that Moyes has been on a mission to visit as many European cities in a week as possible to personally scout targets, but it doesn't make them attainable in January. It's well known that it's difficult to to do business in January. Mata is pretty much in the company of one of actual world class players who are signable now.

I seriously don't understand you. Are you happy with ANYTHING? You start the month complaining that United won't sign anyone at all. Now, when the news breaks that we could actually sign Juan ******* Mata, you're still not happy that it's not the right player? It's not a ****** fairytale where we can just write some cheques and build our fantasy team. We know they ****** it in Summer. They know they ****** it in Summer. Call me a fool, but I actually have confidence that they're better prepared this time around and won't make such a meal of things, and if they deliver Mata to apologise for the clusterfuck in summer? Am I going to complain? Am I bollocks.

You do know that it's not your money that they're paying with? They haven't come and held you to ransom and demanded 37m off you, and that's why you're so concerned about transfer fees? We have ?100m in pure cash. We can easily raise ?50-100m extra in credit instantly. And then we have players we can actually sell and move on to raise funds. I think we can afford a luxury signing and then the players we actually need.

Not going to complain, with Mata, IF IT HAPPENS.... BIG IF STILL IN MY MIND.

But neither am I suddenly going to pretend that it's the right signing either, to me if there is one position we don't need a player, it is ****** that one. You're making it sound like ?37m is fine to blow away as long as we get a player with a reputation?

That's what puzzles me the most. If Moyes is willing to blow out 37m for Mata, why in the name of christ he turned away 40m offer for Ozil in the summer? Not only club would be in a completely different position now, but most importantly this decision ended up turning Arsenal into legitimate title contender. Huge huge mistake. One that I think Ferguson wouldn't have made - old fox would have gone balls deep if such a bargain opportunity for world class player presented itself.

40 mill and he's all yours. Cannot turn that sort of money down. Still don't think its what Utd need bud hay ho.

Rather not Roman, from a sensible Manchester United fan who would rather spend it on a player we actually need rather than just a player for the sake of it. If there is one position we don;t need it's that, Kagawa, Rooney, Januzaj.... depending where we play him got plenty of great options.

Don't want the excuse of we can't get a player we need.... Pjanic... Cabaye... Shaw.... any out of them 3 would be better.

Indeed, it would be a laughable signing when you think about it.

It's not blowing it. It's signing a world class player with 8+ years left in him. WHO WE CAN AFFORD. Signing him doesn't infringe on our ability to sign Gundogan, Shaw, whoever the **** else you listed. Those players aren't available right now, so it's utterly pointless to use an opportunity cost argument. By your logic we blew ?24m on RVP too.

Bit of talk going round about us being in advanced talks with Juve for Vidal no price mentioned but apparently we have had people there for a couple of days. Think it could be agreed and wages being a big factor due to Vidal being on relatively low wages for a player his class in Europe and Juves financial trouble.

A) Think you'll find Cabaye and Pjanic are definitely doable. who were 2 on my list, if even the rest weren't. One of them two are much more needed.

B) Moyes signs Mata in January but turns down the chance for Ozil in last summer..... it makes no sense whatsoever and it would just be another **** up we can point to Moyes making and costing us big time so far this season.

C) Few could argue RVP was a signing we should of logically made, but it's hard to argue that now because obviously we're champions. However this is totally different because even if we signed superman it wouldn't resurrect our season and make us champions by the end. So if Moyes signs Mata it says to me he doesn't have a clue what he's really doing, considering we could of had Ozil in the summer. That goes for Woodward as well.

Source? There's been Dante, Mata and a whole load of rumours....

Yeah.

A) Ozil in the summer - get world class AMC and **** over Arsenal without giving the money to domestic oposition.
B) Mata in winter - get world class AMC half a year later, help Chelsea buy world class striker, all while Ozil carries Arsenal to #1 league spot.

It literally makes no sense.

A) You have Gundogan available in summer. You have Cabaye available now or in summer. You can only sign one. Now are you so eager to sign Cabaye. You have no idea what they have planned for the future, stop assuming you do and stop thinking in the present tense.

B) Just because they play in similar positions doesn't make them similar players. You've no idea what Moyes' tactical plans are.

C) See B).

I think you're more in love with lambasting Moyes for whatever possible reason you can muster than you are in actually supporting the club.

I am supporting the best interest of the club, but I am still struggling to see the logic of blowing ?37m just because it's "JUAN ******* MATA".

Juve in financial troubles? Since when? And if indeed they were Vidal would be one if the last to sell.
