BACK in 1988 when Sir Alex Ferguson was a mere mortal of a football manager and facing the sort of pressure that Rafael Benitez is under today he made a prediction.

"This isn't just a job to me," Ferguson said. "It's a mission. I am deadly serious about it. Some people would reckon too serious. We will get there, believe me. And when it happens, life will change for Liverpool and everyone else – dramatically."

This man is a Genius. Comment made in 1988 (Not sure how accurate it is). If true, thats one helluva prediction or gut feeling or confidence..

Lap of Honour!

Firstly I would like to give credit to Blackpool after their performance today, I thought they were excellent and really unlucky not to stay up. Secondly, what a great day. Old Trafford was rocking from start to finish with the Blackpool fans playing their part in a party atmosphere. Thirdly a BIG thank for to Edwin Van der Sar for the past 6 years. All the memories, all the special moments (penalty save vs Chelsea in Champions League Final my personal fravorite). All the best for the furture, a true United legend and one of the all time greatest goalkeepers the world has ever seen. Last but not least, now that the league title is in the bag, the red army turns it's attentions to Wembley with a show down against Barcelona for the UEFA Champions League, I won't be their in person but I shall be in spirit! Lets do it one more time Reds and make this unbelievable season even more unforgettable!

Few celebration pics.

Manchester United owners snub Wembley 68' heros

Manchester United's American owners have delivered an incredible snub to the club's history by failing to invite their 1968 European Cup heroes back to Wembley for Saturday's Champions League final against Barcelona.

Many of the players from the famous 4-1 victory over Benfica will have to watch the match on television or try to get tickets through other means.

A close friend of one said on Saturday night: 'We have heard nothing from United. They are happy to talk up the history and traditions of the club, but the old players have been forgotten on this occasion

'It would have been nice for Sir Matt (Busby's) team to have been invited to the game as a group. After all, the win at Wembley in 1968 is part of the club's history. Maybe the club have so many employees now they didn't have enough tickets left.'

If true, this is a complete discrace. Those heros of the 68' team have every right to be there to support the current batch of players on to glory. If anything, they have more right to be there ahead of our owners.

What do you guys make off this news?

Manchester United Youth 4-1 Sheffield United Youth - Keane x2, Morrison x2

Keane now has 23 goals in 21 starts this season for the Youth Team. Crazy goalscroer. Morrison needs to keep his attitude in check, and he'll become a world beater.

He's the Red Side of Manchester's version of Mario Balotelli. World at his feet, but attitude problems make him kick the world away.

Will Keane needs to be in our first team next season. Or on loan in someone elses.

Regarding youth cup finals, it was superb match. 7000 away fans Sheffield. Thats very very impressive. More than fee preimer clubs away fans..

Game was superb. Sheffield played well in the first half and on the balance on the game they were bit unlucky to go 2-0 down. Ravel Morrison was gliding past the players with ease. Very much impressed with him as always.

Few of the tackles from Ryan Tuncliffe was superb. He is a leader. One who will lead from the front when chips are town. When he lose the ball, his first instinct is to go for tackle and win the ball. His driving runs from the deep are always joy to watch. And more or less that created our first goal. I hope he will make a grade at United as I'm a big fan of his. Engine of our team..

Pogba was as usual very creative, dancing feet. I was really surprised to see how quick feet he has got for the player of his size. He has got a monster shot in him.

Winning cup doesn't mean all our players will make it, it gives me hope that we have got few quality players in our ranks..

Yes, even i read that they were not invited. I thought media were ready to pounce on something to slagg us off. Good that we have invited those legends.

Great that Berba is staying. Hope this will put end to all rumors linking him away to Sevilla and other clubs.

Various reports suggest that the signing of David de Gae is too be announced as early as next Monday.

Alex Ferguson Manchester United: Manager Wants Reporter Banned For Asking Giggs Question | UK News | Sky News

Sir Alex Ferguson has been caught on a Sky News microphone banning a reporter from the build-up to the Champions League final, apparently for asking a question about Ryan Giggs.

The Manchester United manager - preparing to take his team to Wembley for Saturday's clash against Barcelona - whispered to a press assistant: "Ban him on Friday."
It comes during a furore over free speech, heightened by MP John Hemming's naming of Giggs as the footballer at the centre of a privacy battle yesterday in the House of Commons.
The reporter - Rob Harris, of the Associated Press news agency - had asked Sir Alex: "The most experienced Champions League player in the team is obviously Ryan Giggs. How important is he for the team on Saturday?"
The question brought the curt reply: "All the players are important, every one of them."
But four minutes later, while one of Ferguson's answers was being translated for foreign journalists, he was heard via the Sky News microphone asking press officer Karen Shotbolt about "the guy that asked the question about Giggsy... at the press conference".
She replies: "Which one?"
Ferguson responds: "Him that asked the question... who?"
Ms Shotbolt, perhaps aware they may be heard, replied: "Oh yeah, I'll tell you later."

Ryan Giggs leaves the Manchester United training ground
Then minutes after that, during another translation break, Ferguson is heard to ask: "Is he coming on Friday?"
Ms Shotbolt asks: "The guy with the laptop?"
Ferguson replies: "Aye. Then we'll get him. Ban him on Friday."
Giggs' name was mentioned only once by journalists during a half-hour news conference, before which they were warned by the press officer that Ferguson would talk only about the game.
Lou Ferrara, AP Managing Editor, Sport said: "Rob Harris was doing his job as a journalist by asking a question.
"Our expectation is that he'll ask more questions and be afforded the ability to do so as he covers the world's most popular sport."
The Friday ban would coincide with pre-match press activity on the eve of the Champions League clash.
Giggs attended United's Carrington training complex today but did not show up while cameras filmed training.
The ban appears to reveal Ferguson's determination not to allow the current storm around one of his most high-profile players to distract his preparations.
