The Manchester United Thread

You guys might call me an Idiot or Deluded for suggesting this but I think Sir Alex is doing what he did when he first got the job! No Big Transfers but wait for the youth team to develop even if it meant not winning any trophies for a couple of seasons!I know nowadays the reputation is so much high a trophy less season will called as an unmitigated disaster but still that is my view!

How dare a football team lose two football matches in a row. My god, teams across the country lose two games on the spin all the time but nothing is made of it, when we lose two in a row media channels like Sky Sports do nothing but go on and on about it. It's not the first time we've lost two in a row will it be the first time we lose 3 in a row if we lose against City on Sunday but as always, we will bounce back and go on a good unbeaten run.

You're a deluded idiot.

You should hear some Everton fans sometimes-they're just as bad. Would appear they have a memory like a seive. Like some Arsenal fans too. Every club has the idiot brigade

No Yaya Toure for the weekend game.....Man Utd fans you should probably be saying 'Thank ****'.......the guy is an absolute monster physically and he is technically gifted, makes for an awe-inspiring combination.

And just to troll my name to those that already did................Ferguson out. |)

It doesn't really matter if City do win the league this season, they'll always be in the shadow of United and therefore will just be noisy neighbours.

We've always called them noisy neighbours, before and after the getting pummelled. Doesnt mean we dont view them as threat.

Stubbs, history is irrelevant when it comes to the game this weekend, think you and Joe both show arrogance here for different reasons

You are just bitter, you have agenda against City. This site is full jealous, pathetic ******. (That's the reply you will get next ;)).

Nah Sunil, changed my tone a bit now, glad to see youre still a tool though.
Should be a good game on Sunday, though Yaya and Barry are both out and they have probably been the best CM partnership in the EPL this year.

@Joel, dont point that finger at me, i dont think anyone is being arrogant, it was our first season in the CL and it was a big test for an untried team. You can ask Dunc if you want, on IRC im quite fair and i honestly believe utd will win the title, im not arrogant, in fact im basically the opposite, before every game i wish the other team luck and i often think we will lose.

@RyanStubbs, I think you forget Utd were the ones who begun all this big spending with signings such as Keane, my dad told me that the whole country thought fergie had gone mad when he paid whatever he did for Roy Keane (Maybe worked out as he became a world class player). You can take your moral high ground, but the fact is you have spent plenty of money over the years, im sure the utd fans who speak any sense will agree with me there.

Good luck on saturday to Manchester United, i will not be arrogant, always take defeats like a man and never underestimate any teams, hoping most city fans on here do the same :)

That shouldn't be a problem - you're about the only city fan on the forums right now.

I'd agree we have spent money, and a **** lot of it in the past (7m for Andy Cole in '95, anyone?)

However, and a lot of non-United fans agree, we have only spent what we have earnt. A lot of the anger at Citeh's spending is the fact that basically they have had money thrown at them by rich owners. (You do spend something like 110% of all your earnings on wages, after all, before transfer fees etc.)

And may the best team win on Saturday ;)

I accept our money has come from owners, but it's not my fault or the fans fault we got taken over, we just got extremely lucky, like you guys did by getting the best manager of our time (bar maybe Mourinho). I appreciate the way you have built a team, but the gap between the "big 4" and all the others teams was ridiculous, we have made it a bit fairer and so have spurs. Sky taking over football meant teams had to spend all this money to compete because of the ridiculous bonuses the top 4 picked up with TV Money. I'm not saying we have saved football, but i think we have made it fairer.

Theres no doubt that it's worlds best footballl culb, i totally agreed with you.

Napoli's first season as well. Also you have players there who had played CL football too.
