Not really. This is thread about United. City is not our concernAnd Porto are leading City 1-0. More reason for you to rejoice.

That's not the point. Point is that's pointless talking about City in United thread. Ok, there's few exceptions, but their game vs Porto isn't one. You're telling me that you aren't just a little bit happy that Man City are losing?
Found This somewhere
1. Nani is Theo Walcott with more footballing ability.
2. Valencia is Theo Walcott with brains.
3. Now, if only we found a way to put Valencia's brain in Nani's body, or even Dimitar Berbatov's brain in Danny Welbeck's body. Hmmm....

4. Great to see Tom Cleverley back. Love his short intricate pass and run moves. If he stays fit for the rest of the season it would be great for our title challenge. I can see see Cleverley, Rooney and Welbeck opening up defences with those intricate one-twos.
Good as he is though, his defensive positioning needs work. He's not at the level of Scholes and particularly the excellent Carrick in his defensive positioning, and as he is an attack-minded midfielder his tackling's not good enough to cover his positional faults. That said, he's very impressive.
Exactly, Cleverley should improve defensively. Carrick is the only CM in our ranks with very good positioning sense and no wonder with him back we are not conceding more shots on target. Early season when we missed him we used to concede around 20 shots on target per game, now it has reduced drastically.
Defensively he was always solid, but this season he is more confident on the ball. One of the reason why ManUtd fans are not scapegoating him anymore.
Less to do with scapegoating and more to do with the point he was actually pretty average for about 18 months until the latter stages of last season, even SAF and Carrick admitted that
Yeah but that was not really the point of my post. But in last 2 years whenever we lost, Carrick was blamed no matter what. There were many players who were average, but it was always Carrick who got more stick.
When you make a mistake in his position, its exacerbated. When you play poorly his position its exacerbated. That's why he got the stick. Some positions are far less forgiving that others
Yes, but I'm not talking about that, people expect him to do some FIFA stuff, he gets slated for maintaining possession by playing simple passes. Many expect him to make Scholesesque passes everytime. Even today I have seen people criticizing Carrick saying "No wonder he plays only sideways or backward passes" when someone brings up his passing stats. They failed to see how he helps in retaining possession.
When talked about his interceptions, "Even traffic cone would have done that if placed in the midfield" excuse. Tbf, I have not seen any player getting so much stick even after playing key role in winning titles.
He was always made the scapegoat for the past 2 years even when there were worse players than him.
Also regrading your last post about Carrick has been pretty average for 18 months, yes he was average but his defensive game was always better than any midfielder we had. For some reason people never mention that. They want Carrick of 2006-09 everytime when clearly there was a role change for him in the last 2 and half seasons.
It wasnt just a role change, he also wasnt playing well. He admits this.
