The Manchester United Thread

I didn't see the game tonight, but from what I can tell Manchester United needs some quality players in the centre of the park - Paul Scholes is getting old (Tom Cleverley is a little bit to inexperienced at the moment to be first team) and there are no fantastic holding midfielders either. Walter Gargano wouldn't be a bad shout, in my opinion, as well as Eden Hazard. Those two would cost quite a bit, though!

People are overreacting too much!It is just a matter of 1 or 2 signings and we are done! We have an amazing base already; our defence is set for years(i.e if rafael and fabio can fulfil their potential) our forwards are good too with Rooney,Hernandez,Welbeck,Nani,Young,Valencia and I have huge hopes for Will Keane. One player to work with cleverley and I think we are done for years I think! What do you guys think?


What about Martinez and Muniain or is he madrid bound?

Athletic Bilbao won't let go of 2 of their key players in one go. Muniain still has several years ahead of him before he becomes a top player.

Bilbao were amazing last night, Martinez would be brilliant to see in the PL, but tbh I don't want to see him here, I like Bilbao and would hate to see them lose their top talent. Iraola's run into the box was something else! Was not impressed by Evra, at times Young was being forced to cover for him, and was caught out of position for one of the goals. Rooney looked very frustrated at times too.
 
Ferguson needs to leave now, I love and appreciate everything he has done for the club but we need something new in there! some changes, we are too complacent, last nights performance was one of the worst I have seen in a very long time!

We did not know what to do with the ball, the guys were barely even trying! It was pathetic! I honestly thought we were going to try our hardest to win a title we had yet to win, but take nothing away from Athletic, they were fantastic!

Cleverley was useless, I mean utter **** yet SAF subbed Carrick who has been one of our best players this season! We had to score 2 goals, we went down 1 so we had to score 3, I cannot remember testing the keeper up until Rooney's goal!
 
I disagree on the leaving part, I think Ferguson has made absolute miracles these past years, winning titles after titles even when he didn't have the best group of players ! But he was able to make the best team.

If Man City lose the prem this year for Man U, it will be another big victory for Ferguson and Mancini will be sacked, the man is not good enough for City.

Lol, great post. You have any idea why Cleverley got 90 mins? He was not match fit and him getting match fitness to play in league games was priority.

We are too complacent so Fergie should leave? Thank God I love Glazers.

Btw its you who thought we will try our hardest. We have other priorities. League is top priority and always will be. I know SAF said in press conference but I dont think he will give a **** about winning second tier European cup.

Raikan, seriously man?

I'm fortunate enough not to remember the 80's, but Ferguson has done wonders for this club. I still feel the only way he will leave the club (maybe not as manager, more likely as a director/backroom role) will be in a coffin. The man is a true legend for football.


The main reason for taking Carrick off was to give Pogba a run-out in Europe, in a hostile atmosphere. Ferguson knew the game was lost. No point going all out and ending up with a couple more injuries to add to the list, just for the same result. Cleverley was nowhere near match fitness, this game was more of a run-out for him.
 
Wow! It is FM-Base right not Redcafe for shouting to remove the manager after a poor performance! Honestly Yesterdays match was the first time I didn't feel depressed after a loss! And Cleverley was ***** you say;he has been out for months it is his first game after a long time and Pogba had just given a run in a game with a hostile atmosphere and believe me we will be back in europe in next season! And please don't even talk about Sacking SAF!

I agree that the Man Utd players have been complacent in both the Champions League and Europa League but that does not mean SAF has to go at all

Because of one bad performance in Europe, you are just going to disregard everything SAF has done for this Football club? The man is a legend at the football club and it will take more than one bad game to get him out. He will only leave when he wants to and deservedly so considering the amount of success he has brought to Manchester United and will continue to bring for many more seasons to come
 
What I have found funny is since Utd dropped down into Europa league the commentators and the media etc on channel 5 tried to make it sound like a good trophy saying its the one that has got away from utd and the only piece of silverware Fergie hasnt got his hands on. Well yes that is because year after year Utd have been competing in a much bigger and better european competition known as the champions league XD
 
No trophies this year for Manchester United I guess once Manchester City catch up in the league.

To be honest, United have been playing catch up for the past few months, and now Man City are only 1 point behind so not much catching up. United are probably still going to win the league though, haven't been playing well past few weeks but have been grinding out results (excluding Europa), its how United have won titles in the past and how it looks to be going this season.
 
Got to say-watching the Youth Cup match against Chelsea, and though Utd are losing, Utd have some real talent there. Showing some really good stuff
