The Manchester United Thread

Cleverley and anderson are very injury prone for my liking for a club of united's stature. They can be best a rotation option till their injury problems are solved.Scholes should be allowed to play till he wants and he wont moan if not played hence the perfect rotation option.Get Eriksen and let him settle in with scholes around to help him out.

I would like Eriksen alot, maybe if Scholes did go another season it would help him out. But even if Scholes did not go on for another season, in the coaching role he would be in, he could help any central midfielder which came in.

Mistimes tackle doesn't mean he didn't do defensive works. He was never a pure AM. He was a CM who made superb late runs. He was creative, no doubt about that but he was never confined to one role.

I think any team needs a creative spark in midfield, at this level anyway. Scholes is no doubt a fine player but all I am saying is I hope if Scholes goes on for another season, it does not stop Fergie from buying a replacement for him.

Its satire, its a play on how people are talking and commemorating Muamba as if he is dead. Read some of the articles around, if you didn't know better you'd think he had died on the pitch, whereas in truth he is walking

As i see it its taking a sensitive situation and making a joke about it. Very insensitive if you ask me.

Not at all. But he isn't dead. The whole grief is going crazy, and it fairly takes a dig. Doesnt mock Muamba or what happened in the slightest, but takes a jab at some of the frenzy around it. There have about 100 articles on Muamba, I've seen at least 15 on the guardian alone, half of them act as if he died. Im over the moon that he is looking on the mend, so lets not have more articles acting as if he died.

It's satire? Reallyyyy? If so it's a terrible attempt. TBH, Mike. the guy has been in intensive care for a week.. You can understand the media not being overly optimistic.

H'es been getting better every day. He didnt die, which is what you'd think if you read half the articles. He was walking today. You do not need a 10th article commemorating his life as if he died. Even some journalists (Marina Hyde) are writing about the fact. He's turned a corner, not dead. Nothing to do with being optimistic, especially when the doctors are actually talking about his remarkable recovery and progress, as Coyle passed on. Its gone from huge amounts of touching concern, and rightly so; to classic media hyperbole. Dont usually agree with anything that comes out of red issue, but kinda with them on this. Because showing concern and acting like he died are two separate things. And if that makes me insensitive, i'll just shrug my shoulders, and continue to listen to what Coyle has to say.

Well I completely disagree with what you're saying.. This is aimed at the public not the media.

Also, I decided to Google "Muamba" to see if there were so many morbid articles, found this:

"It's aimed at the people who latched onto the situation and all their fake sentiments,"

"The self-satisfaction of so many people on Twitter and other social networks as though their thoughts and prayers were responsible for his (Muamba's) recovery rather than the paramedics and those involved and the player's own fitness."

"You see it more and more. Whenever celebrities become unstuck it's a big issue while there are people being killed in Syria and Afghanistan who are not worth a mention."

"In no way was this intended as a dig at Muamba, why would it be? It was at the circus surrounding it." - The Red Issue Spokesman

Pathetic.

They raise some very fair points. I also assume you think certain journalists are pathetic too? I too must be pathetic because it ties into some of my views on it. Or really, it could just come down to a difference of opinions on how its been portrayed...

Scrappy goal, but i'll take it. Our play is a little disjointed, and Fulham are getting numbers back.
We need to improve! But 3 points is the most important! Hope we score some more in the second half. I would be happy with 3 more :D

Initially scrappy but good presence of mind there by Evans to pull it back rather than just going for goal.

Yup, good calm head there. Need to drop Rooney into the hole, maintain possession more.

I hate to say it but it was a very sloppy performance! Not scoring the second could have cost us! Evra's play in last minutes was as awful as he can get honestly! Thought Berba should've come on instead of scholes but any way I'll take the win!

Scrappy win, controlled large parts of the game and Fulham made some big saves and blocks, but got lucky in the end with the penalty decision. Should have killed the game off earlier.

Looks like the ref bottled it, not surprised. Just the sort of luck United get.
