The Manchester United Thread

Even if most of us think we need a CM more, it's pretty hard not to be drooling at the prospect at having 2 strikers who scored a combined 71 goals last season.

I worry Fergie may have gone insane at losing the title on GD though.

Like in 2007-08 when many times we played Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez in the same line up, very flexible line up too. Can see us shifting to that or 4-3-3 with Carrick, Anderson, Kagawa as midfielders and RVP, Rooney, Nani/Valencia as attackers.

****, ****, ****!!!! i havent posted here in allot of time, and guess this is the right time! :D full throttle ahead United! lol
Im excited!

It's a good signing in that van Persie is a world class player but it's unnecessary given that we already have decent strikers at the club. Not sure what this will mean for Welbeck's development (although he is expected to sign a new 5 year deal shortly). Annoying that we still aren't looking to strengthen the central midfield area.

Welbeck might be used more on the left this season. Hernandez will be used more as an option off the bench. Berbatov should be sold now. Macheda could be sold/sent on loan. Kagawa might also start more on the left which could mean less playing time for Young. This transfer could effect a lot of players.

As far as the system goes, I'm not sure how we are going to fit in all of Rooney, van Persie, Nani, Kagawa and Valencia. In any case, if we don't win the title this season, it won't be because we can't score goals.

Thinking about it i can see rooney being playing in centre midfield.

It's not about fitting them in one team. It's about depth.

Van Persie, moreover, buys heavily into United's tradition and playing style whereas he is less keen on how City have spent lavishly to accumulate under the Abu Dhabi United Group. He was receptive to the idea of going to Juventus, although he had reservations about Serie A.

Also Wenger confirmed that RVP forced his move to ManUtd.

Not sure from where this 24 Million fee popped up. Telegraph is reporting 15Million initial fee with 7M addons depending upon appearances, goals and silverware.

Good to see Carrick and Cleverley playing well, no wonder England were able to retain possession against Italy.
