The Manchester United Thread

Apparently Joshua King is going on loan to Blackburn.Would be great to see how he does. And also is he really the player who was once rated above Danny Welbeck to make it at United...

Read that the move will be made permanent in Jan.

Lewandowski does want to leave, but propably next summer. I cant imagine him leaving now after they've been bossing around this very hard group in Champions League. The only thing he hasn't done yet is prove he can consistently perform vs. tough opponents, and CL's tournament stage is perfect for that. Few good games and his future contract will skyrocket.

And i'd say even 30 mil for him is a bargain considering 1 mlion Poles in UK will propably instantly line up for the club gear.

You're kidding right?

Probably not. He's Poland's footballing superstar, it makes sense. Much like how loads of Japanese are CSKA Moscow fans.

Bit harsh comparing Poland with Japan. Typically, Asian's follow whoever their best player plays for, whereas Polish people actually understand football and follow the clubs in their country, unlike the Japanese.

Anyway, my point is, I'm sure it will have an impact but saying it will get United 1m fans overnight is pretty insulting.

Not sure that's right, but I'm not willing to argue the point when I have no proof in either direction.

Tyton IS Polish.

Tyton IS Polish, I believe.

That was just my interpretation of them.. I honestly don't know either.

Since the 2002 World Cup, the Japanese have become fanatical about football. They are immensely crazy about their national team. club football, mostly the J league, but also about any league where their players go. I would love you to tell a Gamba Osaka fan he doesn't follow his team. Famous last words.

Well, the flags have same colors!

Oh my god no. I'd rather poke my eyes with a fork than watch polish football. Why do that when i just switch a channel and there's Rooney arguing with the ref? I support my team in Poland, by checking results in the paper.

I thought it'd obvious i don't mean mean literally 1 milion. Just that whoever gets him is also buying a lot of free marketing.

When Kagawa was at Dortmund, Japanese didn't all of a sudden started to follow Dortmund or when he moved to ManUtd they didn't become ManUtd fans, they just follow the games to track progress of their players.

There is a Japanese forum in Bigsoccer, you can see they follow their clubs but also check the games of their stars, not like they stop supporting their team to support ManUtd/DOrtmund/CSKA. It's all media fed BS.

Pretty much. We didn't really have player in the big club since the 80s (goalkeepers don't count). Dortmund's games in CL are already setting viewership records, if he were to go to United (and actually play) people here would go insane.

I'm pretty sure that most of the poles in Britain wouldn't buy the shirts. Most of them around my way seem to spend as little money in this country as possible, probably sending money home to support their families. Could be a massive generalisation but I don't think many would waste money on a United shirt

That is awful - I've seen better matches in the special Olympics and half those guys are either blind or have one leg.

Before you all start jumping on the band wagon and cussing me for making fun of the special Olympics, I'm not. I'm am merely stating that players that are blind and are missing appendages are better footballers than some of those on display in that clip.

Where is KEANO when we need him? Where is the most dominant CM in the history of EPL ? Where is Captain Fantastic ? We need the new Roy Keane more than we need the new Scholes or Giggs, and we need it now.
