If the player whos offside participate in the play, and ball is passed to him, then it's offside.
Answers:
1) Was Simpson passing? I think not. Clear gol IMO.
2) If he was, then it's offside.

He was interfering with play, and was offside while doing it, making it an offside goal.
 
Look on the major plus point-Sunderland 1 Man City 0. That's a shocker

How did Newcastle play? We've got a match against them coming up soon. By the sounds of it they played well and it's making me a bit uneasy

They played good, but its our midfield and defense who gave at least 2 easy goals.
