The Manchester United Thread

Carrick was superb today, probably his best half in the first half. The build up play for the first goal was superb, no wonder Welbeck and Cleverley involved in it.

Robin Van Persie, 24 Million or whatever well spent. Fantastic player and his movement is class. Also Rafael had very good game again, defensively he was very solid, I wouldn't say he is defensively weak at all, he has improved so much defensively and with the way Fabio has played defensively I won't be surprised to see Rafael, Fabio playing as RB and LB next season.

Also tbh bit disappointing subs. Thought Anderson should have came on instead of Jones.

Will be nice to see brothers on the flanks again. Had the Neville brothers, soon we will have the Da Silva Twins.
Wonder if we can find another brother pairing when Fabio and Rafael get older.

I know different positions would like bender twins!:)

Already here. Will and Michael.

Good game today lads. Was nice to have a game without controversy for once.

1) That surely isn't from his actual Twitter account.
2) If it is, he was probably hacked.
3) I don't want him. He's over-rated and hasn't done enough to deserve a £15M + move to the greatest club in the world.

That one looks photoshopped and that's what many said. Too easy to bluff on twitter tbh.

I didn't mean the source, I meant if we are going for Zaha what would your thoughts be?

Personally I would be disappointed going for a hyped up Championship player when we have to pay £12m+ addons I think for him. It would be much better if we spent that money on someone else for example Isco or James Rodriguez from Porto. Someone with a bit more pedigree, I am still not convinced by this guy at all. Even though some people recon he is this and that.

I haven't watched him much at all, IIRC he played against us in League cup and did very well, him and Clyne. Apart from that I have no idea what he like at all, but looking at his goal return I have no idea why there is so much hype about him (Watched few youtube videos though :D )

If Nani stays then there is no reason to sign him at all. Nani, Valencia, Young with Kagawa, Welbeck playing few games there. We are good there, just spend whatever we have on CMs and we are set.

Carrick is finally getting some plaudits and deservedly so but some credit has to go to cleverley too. Carrick has looked good when paired with cleverley. Cleverley isn't going to be considered a world beater but he's so integral to how we play. His passing and movement is good. Carrick and Cleverley are really playing well as a 2. and hopefully welbeck learns from RVP how to finish. Welbeck is going to be a superstar. Works his *** off, good on the ball, good first touch, can beat a man just need to work on his composure and finishing....

Agreed, he had poor/average 18 months and people rate him for his performance against Barca (with Giggs Anderson and Giggs as partners) when the fact is there aren't many CMs who came out with decent performance when played open football.

He is so important player when we took him off against Wigan (?) we gave away possession so easily and also with Cleverley he is playing expansive game rather than just passing it to Scholes.

i dont want Zaha okay hes decent but unless its like 5mil **** off!! bring in a world class cm id love someone like fellani tiote sandro etc to break play up im not a fan ov cleverly tbh when we play madrid barca hes not gonna have a chance vs world class players like ozil modric i want some world class players back at united!! get it sorted and a few good youths for future like okore hughes would be nice

The level of ignorance about Zaha here is rather astounding.

Looking at his goal return in order to determine his quality is beyond retarded. Franck Ribery has scored the same number of goals as Zaha in their respective leagues (and with a far stronger team, I might add) and he's been by far and away the best player in the Bundesliga this season. Goals =/= quality in a winger.

Also, to the people disparaging Zaha as 'hyped up' and 'overrated': have you actually watched him play? Have you listened to the people who know what the **** they're talking about? There's a reason Zaha is being hyped up. He's the hottest property in the Championship now. He plays for a club that has a proven track record of producing talented young players (and especially recently) and is ripping defences to shreds single-handedly. What more CAN he do to justify to a move to the Prem, United or otherwise?

...I don't think he's done enough to warrant a move to Barca either.

Is he a traditional winger or a winger who likes to play on opposite flank? I'm sure many ManUtd fans will say No to him if Nani stays as we have bigger gaps to fill than winger and striker.

Cup tie will be interesting now, with Anderson and Nani back they both can start. Kagawa is short of match sharpness so he might even start. As we have game against Spurs Carrick and Cleverley might be rested, which they should be IMO. And biggest of them all Rooney will be back and can't wait to see him in the first 11 with RVP.

Against West Ham

DDG

Rafael Jones Smalling Buttner

Anderson Scholes

Nani Rooney Kagawa
