The Manchester United Thread

Is barca midfield less talented for the kid or what than. Its obvious pep told him something that made him join up with bayern. What that is everybody's guess.Mine is pep told him he will play in the field as AM .Gotze, kross ribery robben shaqiri cant be benched. So my guess is gotze will be the false 9 .Krose/thiago as AM .Ribery/Robben/Muller/Shaqiri as wingers.Mundazchich(spelling) as super sub

So who are we gonna sign for our midfield now? All players that we are linked to are now gone (Thiago to Bayern, Strootman to Roma). Hopefully this doesn't mean that we will be going for Fellaini.

I find it difficult to believe that Bayern would have offered a better wage than United.

Maybe he just wants to play amongst the best midfield in the world? What's wrong with that? Just because somebody isn't guaranteed a first team place it doesn't mean they are greedy, in fact, I think it shows a lot of ambition.

Based on? Bayern are one of the richest teams in the world.
The point is Andy, he wanted to leave for a near guaranteed first team place. Otherwise he'd have been better off staying at Barca.

Thiago will be in the pivot with Bastian, Martinez to CB. Gustavo out. Kroos AMC. Gotze False 9.

So who do people think our midfield targets actually are now? Moyes addressed earlier today the midfield is short so he obvious has some players in mind. I am just hoping it's not Fellaini....

Well, it was bond to happen. We've lost another midfield battle. Good luck to Thiago, I'm sure he'll get his minutes. There was article explaining that Guardiola had Mascherano, Busquets, Xavi, Iniesta, Thiago and Keita, and they all got more than 15 games. I'm not bitter, I understand Thiago. It wasn't the money, it was Pep.

So, what are our options now? Realistic targets that would fit and make our midfield better? I would still try to sign Romulo from Spartak, but beside him, there's none on my mind.

I'm thinking of Marchisio from Juventus, but obviously it would be one **** of a swoop and more than likely wouldn't happen...

Yeah, he would be awesome, but he's not realistic target. Just as Vidal, Martinez, Busquets, Sandro, Modric and the list goes on and on..

Only reason I mentioned him was because earlier in the summer he stated that he was flattered when linked to us.

Tbf you can put Thiago in that list. These are hard targets, because we are hunting for players capable of the highest level. And these don't come easily. If Barca had handled this like they should have, we wouldn't have got anywhere near Thiago.

Banega is available. I'd honestly test Juve's patience over Marchisio. There is no point beating about the bush with top class players. Otherwise an alternative is to aim one level down, and then add top tier talent on the flanks

Banega is decent. Can't see him anything but backup for Carrick. He was always bit of a ****, dunno what his injury did to him, might not affect him at all, might ****** up him massively. But that's it. Fellaini is available ( **** yes, fellaini.... ... ...), Cork maybe might be good shout. I don't like to panic, but I can't see us signing a world class midfielder any time soon. Maybe if we put some ridiculous bid for Vidal or Marchisio.
About wide players, Di Maria is available. I'm not impressed with Gaitan. Beside them, can't think of any winger that would boost our threat from wide positions.

Is Owen Hargreaves available? Maybe? *******.................. This is going to be long summer. And probably the season as well.
****, I started to panic.

And what about De Rossi? He would be realistic target, won't he?

Also, can't wait to see Benteke leaving Aston Villa, just for making fun of our own misfortune with midfielder :'(

Don't even need to respond, this is punishment enough. :D

Banega's good enough to play alongside Carrick. Besides, the latter's hardly a spring chicken, you need to build for the future as well as the present. Di Maria wouldn't look likely to me.

Marchisio? Seems to have a job for life at Juve. He was their biggest goal threat last year, and it helps he can play any role in midfield. Doubt they'd let him go, they've got a good dynamic going on with him, Pogba, Vidal and Pirlo. Amusing to think any one of those four could walk right into United's starting lineup and be nearly (Pogba) or indisputably (the rest) the best.
