The Manchester United Thread

I'd dather sell him abroad, But I'd rather let him rot than go to Chelsea. If he has any sense of professionalism before a world cup, he will buck up his ideas anyway.
If he's not good enough to start for you, then why are you reluctant to sell to rivals? If you think he's not good enough to start, then surely he doesn't have the capability to come back to hurt you? Is the reason PR, or is there a footballing reason?

Of course there is a footballing reason. What kind of ****** thinks Rooney isn't good enough to come back and hurt them?!

If there is one manager capable of bringing back the best from Rooney, its Jose Mourinho. And it's a risk we shouldn't be willing to take.

£30m bid for Modric, activate Fellaini's clause, re-sign Nani. Put Rooney on the bench.

I dont care about names, I want a player or two to deal with our midfield issue, but good enough to make us credible CL contenders.

Madrid SIGNED Modric for £33. I doubt they'd be willing to let him go. He made 53 appearances last year and Carlo looks likely to give him even more starts to manage Alonso's age-related decline. Madrid don't need to let him go, he hasn't made any indication he wants to go, and I doubt they will for £30 mil.

I know how much they signed him for, hence bid. See where we go from there. Difficulties also include his 2nd half of season resurgence and the fact Ancellotti is a known fan of his style.

Starting off at £30 mil is just a waste of both parties' time. Another difficulty is the fact that he's so versatile and Carlo's likely to switch up formations more often too, giving him more playtime. It's very unlikely.

1. offer swap: Whale Looney for Modric
2. Profit.

Perez is desperate to sign a big name before president election so it might just work.

Anyone else feel Gustavo would be a better bet than Fellaini? Especially at the price being mooted by the press

No. Fellaini is already acclimatised to the PL, he is stronger and he is more versatile aswell.

And besides-imagine the additional revenue generated from Fellaini wigs lol

Both have their strong points, Gustavo is very good DM, good on the ball and has got superb shot from distance. Physically he is no mug either. Also he is lot quicker for a CM/DM.

On the other hand, Fellaini offers very good threat from set pieces, he is never a second favorite when it comes to physical battle, even with Dembele or Yaya, very good finisher and if we need a goal or two you can always push him higher up the pitch.

I wouldn't mind either but I would be bit more happier with Fellaini.

You're not meant to like the idea of us buying Fellaini. :P

Although it's all still rumours at the moment, honestly I don't know who we're going for. Only thing I have heard is that United are pondering another bid and probably the final one for Fabregas within the next 48 hours.

Oh I forgot to add one thing that is a must is to tie Januzaj down to a long-term contract and give the lad chances this season. It breaks my heart about Pogba at Juventus... why we ever let him go was beyond me. Fergie was quite stubborn I thought when there was clear opportunities for Pogba which were never given. We were not exactly packed with midfielders especially like him.

To be honest I'm resigned to the fact it's going to happen, and we do have a fairly good relationship with Man Utd in recent years and what better club? Guaranteed CL football, surrounded by quality players, in a club thats able to attract further quality? what more could he want. Yes we're in a better situation, but the stadium is garbage, our squad is getting old, we're in transition aswell, we're skint half the time so we can't bring in quality. Realisation over heart on this occassion. Rather it was Utd than the noisy neighbours tbh

If we don't try for Gundogan I'm gonna be fuming! He only has 2 years I think left on his contract! GET IN THERE NOW WHILST HE IS BEING TALKING TO DORTMUND ABOUT A NEW ONE.

RANT OVER.
Defo wont leave this season Dortmund dont need to sell either unfortunatly

Rooney is gonna stay and be starter next season for sure, and will defo go for charltons record and buck his ideas up.
