The Manchester United Thread

Rumours from the Sunday Mirror say that if we lose Cesc then we are going for Bastian Schweinsteiger, god I hope this is true and that it happens it would make my month, it really would. Anyone think there is any truth to this?

Even if we assume Guardiola is foolish enough to try that board won't let him. Pep wanted Neymar and they refused his request (but brought in for him Gotze anyway).

United need atleast one midfielder surely for this season - unless players like Cleverley are going to seriously up their game this season? An opportunity for Anderson to perhaps fulfill that potential he was always touted as having?

Both probably pretty unlikely though.

Fellaini would be the stand out option I would have thought - mostly due to the speculation which hasn't stopped since Moyes left for United - but I reckon Fellaini would fit nicely in that United team, if you look at the other midfielders he would certainly bring a fresh feel and different dynamic to the side

This is **** at its best. The whole germany will go on riots if they even think of selling him lol.

I don't think Dortmund, Nuremberg, Schalke, Kaiserslautern, Hamburg, TSV 1860 and Leverkusen fans would agree.

IF Real Madrid sign Gareth Bale and we sell Rooney to Chelsea - would it be worth making a cheeky bid for Karim Benzema?

Let's not get silly. They're never going to sell us Ronaldo AND Benzema.

Leaving Madrid with Morata as their only striker. Yeah, that's realistic.

Not as stupid as us giving you a striker waiting to be revitalised by Mourinho.

Exactly why it would be fantastic to see it happen. About a month of United fans going "meh he's **** we didn't need him" before Jose turns him into a pudge Scouse wrecking ball and they start crying and blaming Moyes. Bliss. :D

They've been playing Ronaldo as a central forward in pre-season and he's said he's "comfortable in his new role". Plus they're supposedly after Suarez too.

Ronaldo's never been at his best up front. There's a reason that Portugal, despite having about thirty million wingers but Helder Postiga up front, haven't played him as a striker. I know Carlo's trying to convert him, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Besides, it's a moot point. Madrid won't go from having two world-class strikers to having a world-class winger up front and Morata as his backup.

sell Whale Rooney to Arsenal, he will probably fall out with the Professor within a month, problem solved.

After bending us over a barrel to get a new contract and then offering a dollop of ***** with his performances in return for 90% of matches, you can see why fans go on like that. With his recent form, we don't need him at all, but Chelsea do.

It's a crying shame because he seemed destined to be our record goalscorer, but he seems intent on throwing his toys out of the pram and ending his time here as a villain rather than writing himself into folklore.

Chelsea don't need him at all. He'd be a luxury signing, but WHAT a luxury signing.

I'd like to see Rooney and Jose just so I could see exactly how good he can get under the tutelage of the greatest man-manager who has ever lived.
