The Manchester United Thread

Apparently Antonio Valencia has "asked" to revert to the number 25 shirt from the number 7 he had last season. Number 7 now free for a new arrival.............

I'd really of liked to of seen Januzaj with Carrick as a partnership to start this match. I can see Moyes really wants to get off to a good start and not take any gambles but he looks really smooth in possession and it could of been a greater reward than risk.

Januzaj is not a CM, atleast not yet.

Poor half for a champion side against a relegated team frankly. They are passing so freely in their half.

I know, but he's so smooth on the ball and we're playing Wigan. With Carrick it would of been great just to see how he could of done there. I am not a fan of Cleverley I don't think he offers much to the team.

A) We're winning so why does it matter they are passing the ball freely in their own half?

B) Moyes says before this is still pre-season (which it is because it's the Community Shield so I only class it as a friendly), this is all about fitness and limiting any injuries.

I think he means its hard to tell whos the championship side and whos not.

NAH REALLY

BTW if you were playing Watford you would be 2-0 down by now ;p

If you hadn't noticed, a certain member of this United team today at times pretty much single-handedly eviscerated Watford in the play off final. And he's not even close to being the best player on the team.

He knows what I mean.

We will win this, almost certain about it. Lack of created chances so far are worrying, let's hope we don't concede, I really want to see Januzaj in game.

Slow half, turned in to a very comfortable pre season run out, could have 4-5.

Second half was pretty good. Welbeck dropped deep to link midfield and attack and that gave us some fluidity ( if this is even a word) in possession. Ando should start ahead of Clev in Swansea game, he's solid whole pre season. Zaha either tried too hard, or he's not yet on Valencia level. Im pretty impressed with Evra's role. Great freedom in attack, pretty much playing as a winger. That can give us extra man in midfield in attacking phase. Still, lack of penetration is evident. Sum summarum, pretty pleased.

Woah, Ando only solid going forwards, non existent in defence. Zaha was good, tried a bit too hard, but also caused them no end of trouble, they started doubling up on him after just 7 minutes. He will go from strength to strength.

Agreed about Welbeck, very good game.

Players are still getting upto speed, and will be for a bit, which makes our tough start even tougher.

Yet people still call him rubbish........ the work he puts through in every game is second to none. There is certain areas of his game which are lacking (most noticeably GOALS) but if he can add that bit of penetration to his game he will be brilliant. He caused so many problems for Madrid in the Champions League last season.

Don't be like MANUMAD please with the random caps. Back to the point; overall, a solid performance. I'm more interested in seeing Shinji Kagawa than anyone else.

Most of his overall game is very good, except for goals. Which he must improve on, no question about it. But people are also too lazy/stupid to see beyond that.

anyone else notice valencia reverting back to no.25? possible new major signing for the no.7
