The Manchester United Thread

Sorry if I interpreted your intentions incorrectly.

1 player? I remember mentioning few in the last page or 2.

Juve signed these players after finishing 7th.
Pirlo
Lichtsteiner
Vucinic
Elia
Vidal

All the players were highly rated and were chased by other clubs.

Bayern finished 4th in 2006-07 (so in Europa league), in 2007-08 when they were not in CL they signed
Ribery
Klose
Toni (was one of the best CF at that time)

I don't even have to list PSG, City and Chelsea players

Okay fair enough. I'll give you a couple of examples too ... Hazard wasn't even considering Chelsea till we qualified for the CL. Oscar would never have come to Chelsea unless we qualified for the CL, **** he would have gone to Spurs instead. We would have been left with the likes of Marin in our first-team. So CL football definitely is important when you see that your rivals can offer more or less the same things you can and have great futures as well

That's my point mate. Anyways I agree with you on the wages part. I just felt you were totally discounting CL football which was my fault. More than happy to end this on that note

Apparently he entered the United dressing room at the Bridge after the game as well. Load of tosh imo. But I still feel he should stay away from games ... It's not exactly helpful

It's a bit of a no win situation for Fergie, he clearly has feelings for the club and still wants to be there but at the same time it's putting more pressure onto Moyes.

Draws a lot of similarities with when Shankley left Liverpool, although Fergie hasn't walked in on training and had to be banned yet. <)

His armband proved that he was Red, Torres, Torres.

Oh.

What is your point? Vidal is not loving his time at Juve?

Also re the chant,
Torres said:
"I only want to score goals and do my job. When I was born in Madrid, I was not a Liverpool fan or a Chelsea fan. I was an Atletico fan. I still am. They're the only badge I will kiss.

Here is the hint: Point was about Vidal rejecting bigger club for Juventus even though they were not in CL.

Hazard signed because none of the Manchester clubs were ready to pay 6 or 7 Million to his agent, not because you had CL football. Not sure about Oscar.

Why should he stay away from game. He is director and has every right to attend all the games for the club he has served and built. Matt Busby used to attend games when Fergie was in charge. Fergie attending games had no impact whatsoever on Moyes or players or ManUtd as a club.

Everyone seen this?

I'm pretty much like, "uhh, are you sure that's a good idea? Because I don't." with this Mata 'exclusive'.

I rather this transfer not happen tbh ... It would leave me very conflicted. I am assuming that will be a swap deal w Rooney. And if United really think they can get Mata with pure cash alone then Woodward is a bigger muppet than I thought

Ahh yes but he only considered Chelsea once they qualified for the CL. Before that it was solely between the Manchester clubs. He even came out and said that playing in the CL was important to him

Not saying he doesn't have the right but it's clearly not helping so why should he? Everytime United loss a match or the opposition score a goal, the cameras immediately turn to capture his reaction and inevitably some editor spins a headline on it. If it doesn't help, just stay away. You are retired anyways ... Why the heck do you still want to spend your weekends jetting all over the country to watch football

Cameras showing Fergie will have no impact whatsoever as Moyes will be in dugout and I don't think when they watch replay they will think "Ah old ******* in the stands".

Re your last point, ridiculous. It's his club. He along with Matt Busby built it. Why should he stay away. He wants to enjoy watching ManUtd just like Bobby Charlton. That was ridiculous journalism and I never thought someone would take it seriously.

Meh I don't really care, it just brings unnecessary attention when it's not needed

Btw what's up with Zaha? I read that he didn't even start the reserve game ... Unless he is injured, looks like something personal to me
