The Manchester United Thread

Call me what you like ... It's akin to United selling Rooney/RVP to Chelsea for cash alone. You would probably react the same if it was the reverse happening

It's not akin to it because RVP/Rooney are key players to our first team. Mata, currently, is a reserve. Complaining that your reserve leaving for ?40m spells the end of your title hopes and puts you in a battle for 4th is a bit melodramatic. On the flip side, you don't have to play us again whereas you're strengthening us significantly for matches with all of your title opponents.

Went right off the radar after being the next big thing, remember French coach at the time saying his attitude is bad and lacks commitment to training.

He got booted and banned of national team after night out before the game. Was a huge drama about it. Its a shame, he's a huge talent but a party animal as well.

Why?

Anyway, if this is true, then we are probably getting some player who can play on wing. Wink wink

Because he's ours!

But on the other hand, I'm living in Cardiff, so I might go and see him.

Mata isn't a reserve. You do realise that he has seen a significant amount of minutes this season right? You do realise that selling him would significantly affect our depth at the AM position, our strongest area, without any time left to get in replacements as we head into the business end of the season? All it would take would be a couple of injuries to **** us over and we would be in a battle for 4th. We haven't exactly secured a top 4 spot yet ... And if the injuries don't happen, our AM band will likely see a drop in the level of their performances anyways after fixtures come thick and fast due to fatigue

And regarding your last point ... I don't think even Chelsea think that short-term

So basically we are strengthening our main rivals for the next 4-5 years and at the same time significantly decreasing our chances of a trophy this season. As I said, it's akin to you selling Rooney to us for cash alone. How can you expect me not to be ****** at this deal if it goes through?

He hasn't been most of those things since the 2010 World Cup. He's matured, working his way back into the national team and still performing well in Russia. If there's a reasonable price for him, I don't see why we shouldn't consider it. A robust midfielder who's passing range is superb. Durable in that he can play week in and week out, too. Still has a high ceiling in which to reach his potential at 23.

Yours like Cristal Palace's? Well, I think Ole is reason for that. He is good with youngsters and Zaha will probably play every weak. It's good deal for both Cardiff and United.

******* la Luba expert apparently so how the **** does he know about anything between two English teams. Attention seeker at best. But Mata is good as ours :)

Don't count your chickens yet... it's not over the line until it's official.

Btw for people wondering about the "3rd party involved" apparently is Kia Joorabchian.. apparently has helped with other United deals in the past. Not 100% though.

Good move hope it works out and plays most games, and comes back ready for next season. Read Fabio going on loan to Wolfsberg the other day.

I think it's Frieburg. Read that the manager is a sort of genius when it comes to coaching young players.

Nice lie from ChelseaTV. Mata was at the training ground but didn't train, with the group anyway.

That's because the group is always split between starters/non-starters or those who played and those who didn't from the previous game which would explain his absence from the photos ... Chelsea news reiterated twice that only Torres and Van Ginkel didn't train. Non-story as far they are concerned

Oh really? Why was Schurrle in them photos then. He had no involvement in the game either.

Oh no, I expect you to be ****** off to the extreme. I think everyone loves Mata. It's what makes it even better if we do sign him, no offence, but the meltdown from Chelsea fans is delicious already. I'm just saying you're being melodramatic.

What ever happened to never questioning Jose?
