Least games wont be dull this season 
Finally chilled out a bit after watching the Chelsea City game. The only difference between them 2 and us is the defence. We need a World Class CB/Leader and we will be fine. Still optimistic as it seems no one can string a run of wins together.

Falcao's cross was brilliant, his volley too. Di Maria set up few goal scoring chances and his corner which Rojo headed over the bar was just amazing.
Also we have added goals from midfield. Herrera scored 2, Di Maria scored 2 and played important role in 6 of the last 7 goals. If we can sort out our defense then we should finish in top 4 easily. Also Van Gaal said next week Rojo will play CB and Shaw as LB. I for one just can't wait to see Shaw playing for us.

Agree mate. Not all doom and gloom, LVG is not an idiot and will surely see we need 1 top CB to make us go upto that next level. Maybe wont be available in Jan but will be sorted out and ready for the end of the season.

When Shaw is back to full fitness it will certainly help at the back but a centre back is needed badly in January, United have always been short defensively even with Fergie as the commentator said today De Laet played in a 3-0 defeat against Fulham with Utd in a back 3 with Carrick & Fletcher!! Cannot fault Van Gaal for his new signings but I can't help think Keane would be a better choice than blackett ?? & if you look at the other teams in the league there does seem to be a lack of available CB's atm.

Defo mate need to get a CB don't think will be any available in jan tbh. Could maybe do with a top CM aswell would of helped today when was under the cosh. No complaining about Herrera or Blind both have been good, will be glad to get Carrick and Fellaini back as some more options in that area.

If there is no CB's are available another Cm would be ideal to give us to option of putting Blind back aswell if needed. I hate fellaini lol but Carrick is a consistent performer but I do feel he has been declining recently but maybe thats due to no real competition ?

Just think we lack some experience in CM and at the back but apart from that I am more than happy with the team. 2 more signings and we will be there.

yeah at least we don't have CL football so gives them a year to bed in, Di Maria will be key this season.

Vidic had another mare again today gifting Palermo a goal, has been poor since joining Inter tbh.

That's a shame for him! but he didn't have the best of seasons last year either and he will get injured at some point aswell. Hopefully he can perform a bit better though but it could very well be his last season in football.
@Tezzz, Don't think United will win the league though think 4th place would be admirable to be honest due to defensive frailty's, Chelsea & City are too strong at the moment I reckon but the one good thing is all the teams except Chelsea have been inconsistent so far so United are lucky in that aspect & with Liverpool need time to settle and should become a good team to battle for that 3rd & 4th spot.
Doesn't matter if we buy a CB if we make the kind of mistakes we made today. As a defensive team we have to get better. The simple fact is there is no one coming in till jan. These are basic things we're not doing well, as awesome as the attack is. Must get it sorted and stop worrying about signing players.
Cannot blame Clattenburg for that debacle. No team leadership or determination. Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal, and maybe Liverpool, would not of collapsed like that. There are many Premier League teams that would love to have that back 4 and would not give up 4 goals so quickly.
It's madness that people think the solution for all the problems is signing a player. We have almost a brand new team but people complain about not signing a CB. Like I said as a defensive unit we are not performing well, not just defenders. Our defensive set up should be better and I think Van Gaal summed it up well. All the players want to go forward and score goals which makes us defensively very unstable.
Blind was the only one holding back. Herrera, Di Maria, Rooney all were attacking which meant our midfield was short in numbers.
I agree about performing as a defensive unit, I really do;; But doesn't take away from the fact that we need a leader at the back. Someone to calmly organise the defence. We should have stuck to keeping possession for a while at 3-2 until the pace was slowed down, but we didn't, got a bit pressurised, tried to attack and hoof the ball;; I guess that's where we missed Jonny Evans at the back//
Well, we'll be back next time with Smalling and Rojo in CB, with Shaw starting. But even then, that doesnt take away from the fact that we need a proper CB next season. I'm not just over-reacting off this result, but if you look at our CB lineup, Jones and Evans are injury prone, Smalling is okayish, at best. Blackett is still a bit young. Leaves only Rojo. We can probably run it through this season, but we need a CB the next.
I agree about the leadership part. I hope Jones will step up to that level.
