zero games for burnley and if he was so good like you seem to think our u21's are he'd be here helping us through the injury crisis. blackett is only in there due to we played 3 at the back on tour and at the start and jones/evans/smalling keep getting injured.
Well what is the point? You had more pressing needs at CM, DM and LB compared to CB which you fulfilled at the transfer market. CB was not high on the list of priorities even though I agree that it was an area that could have seen an improvement but at least you had some decent players there. At the other positions, you literally had no one. What do you expect? A completely new team in one window? This isn't FM

That's exactly what people expected, bizarrely.
The point is our 3 main cb's have been injury prone for 2-3 years and we've went into another season relying on them, go back rio also had injury problems and it cost us in the past. The fact is we just have an injury prone defence because rafael is the same, how long can we go giving these lads a chance and relying on them.

I think Blackett could have a really good season. Strong and powerful. Good technical ability and comfortable on the ball. Has all the tools to become a top class player. Shame that he got a stupid red card in the last game
He also has one or two sakho moments, he'd come good if he had someone holding his hand like rio/vidic use to with evans.
But smalling and evans are borderline useless these days.

Yes in hindsight, it does look like an error but you also have to realize that their were other areas of major concern that you did sort out. Areas that were even worse than CB and thus had to be higher on the list of priorities

The player in front of him isn't in control of his head and feet.
Tbh even young Nat Chalobah hasn't been getting games at Burnley and Dyche said it was because he wanted to get Chalobah up to speed before throwing him into the fray. Could possibly be the same for Keane

Not offended! Just think they are good enough, and have proved it.
Can't win games or challenge without a consitent cb partnership and we will never have that with evans, smalling or jones and it's fact look at their record of games in a row over 2-3 years, can't argue against it.

Just watched LVG presser, sounds like Thorpe will defo be starting 
Sakho and Valencia are quick and physically imposing, thorpe's ability to read the game needs to be very good also hope rojo positional sense at cb is better compared to his left back performance against leicester.
Big sam will have a plan for our defence and blind, keep blind quiet and we'll struggle to keep possesion, they'll probably throw noble or downing on blind like they did with gerrard.
