Does anyone else think we should give this combo a chance?

------Rooney - Falcao
Di Maria - Mata - Januzaj

I think its our best combo. haven't really been impressed with RVP so far.

No Januzaj in the CM 2 in a diamond would be a disaster. He has to play as a STR or at the tip of the diamond. RVP not been his best yet but still scoring, plus him and Falcao are starting to just link up well.

Very nice little article from football365:

"I've already told my players we aren't playing good and we've already hit the top four, so what will happen when we're playing well?"Creeping into fourth place with their third win of the season, Louis van Gaal's tortoise is priming itself to take advantage should Mourinho's hare stop for a nap. It would be easy to underestimate United after their inauspicious start, but they are gradually rekindling the winning mentality that went missing under David Moyes. Back-to-back victories in which they were forced to cling on will serve them well in the long run.
Everton may be struggling but, as they showed on Sunday, they are still a strong opponent, capable of fashioning chances as they did when they accounted for three of the seven goals Chelsea have conceded this season. Likewise, playing for half an hour with ten men against West Ham - who are only a point behind United - and holding on to a 2-1 victory is not an easy challenge. Both results are commendable considering the circumstances.
It is in these matches that we may be witnessing the beginning of United's return to the top. With a number of players missing through injury, the core qualities of team spirit, commitment and resilience have all been fortified. It is a siege mentality of its own making; the players want to prove people wrong, including the new additions who have overlooked Champions League football in favour of building something big at Old Trafford (and the huge wages on offer, of course).
Van Gaal's claim that it will take three months for his team to gel may turn out to be the shrewdest tactic of the season. There is no guarantee that things will suddenly click after three months, but that is the way the manager has presented his intended self-fulfilling prophecy. The pressure on the players has been eased knowing performances will soon improve, while the taste of failure has provided extra motivation.

And also, what about this?!

'Lab-grown penises developed by scientists and now 'ready for human tests'' - The Independent.

. haven't really been impressed with RVP so far.

Yup. I don't think Falcao-RVP partnership is going to deliver. Van Persie may have been more adventerous in his younger days, but he's increasingly transforming into typical #9. Having two guys who just camp in the box is never going to work.

Rooney-Falcao would work much better I recon, or Welbeck-Falcao in fact. RVP should have been sold abroad in the summer instead of Danny.

[h=1]Loans: Henriquez hits hat-trick[/h]Angelo Henriquez continues to shine at Dinamo Zagreb as his hat-trick illuminated the derby clash against Lokomotiva Zagreb with the 3-0 victory ensuring his side are four points clear at the top of the table.
The Chile international, on loan from Manchester United for the season, opened his account by running past a static defence to coolly find the net and later despatched a penalty by sending the goalkeeper the wrong way. He sealed his treble with another assured finish after latching onto a cheeky backheel.
Henriquez has five goals in his last six outings in the Croatian top-flight and was watched by United representatives during the Europa League tie at Celtic last week, when he came off the bench for the final half an hour.
"I don't think this was a backwards step in my career," said the 20-year-old recently. "But a good chance to play and get experience of European football.
"I have constant contact with people from Manchester United. Not Louis van Gaal, but people from the Aon Training Complex, the coaches. They want to know every detail – from the intensity of training here, diet, life in Zagreb. With that amount of care for a year, I know I’m still being followed by United."

I think RVP and Falcao will be devastating together! The chances we will create this season they will get shed loads. Just wait till we get a settled back 4 and maybe 2-3 more players we will be scary!

Mcnair out with a hamstring injury, it's getting ******* silly now.

Fully expect di maria and falcao to be injured come chelsea, just our luck.

Sure our physios just start taking hammers and mallets to the players.

Got a wee hamstring injury have we, run the 200m and do some hurdles.

Valencia actually done a good role in that RCM slot, positionally, work-rate, even took a few players on, seemed to suit him better than out-wide, oddly enough.

Thought he was really good, don't think Fellaini can do that position though, he always wanders out of position exposes our back four very easily in that formation.

Agree was pleasantly surprised with Tony V. If nothing else he will give 100%. Still think Fellaini will be gone in the Summer.

Also agree valencia in the diamond is much better compared to when he has to hug the touchline also his linkup with rafael is great.

Good squad/utility player, which every team needs. Bit like oshea/park etc.

I'm fine with valencia coming in when needed and just doing the job much better option imo over fletcher and fellaini, intresting thing is does carrick fit into this diamond because the right sided one still has to provide decent width and carrick would be best suited to the blind role.

I miss park, what a guy and the definition of a big game player.
