The Manchester United Thread

To be fair, people know Moyes done a poor job - it's more the fact LVG is not doing much better but wont get the same criticism from the majority because he is a bigger name
I agree LVG should get some stick, but he has a lot of things to deal with Moyes did not. LVG should get some stick im not denying this.

Exactly mate. If Moyes had lost 4-0 to Mk Dons, their would have been a mutiny in the Old Trafford stands. I think LVG will be good for United in the long-term but my god, he isn't doing a great job now

Doesn't help but the majority of these footballers's morale won't be destroyed. Not to mention that the core of your team (Falcao, Di Maria, Blind) weren't part of the Moyes season and thus, should be unaffected
Yes but most of them have missed a chunk of games. So wont be on there best yet.

And as I mentioned, the blame for that can be partially laid at LVG's door as well. Honestly though, you don't need a fluid well-versed team to beat Cambridge United

Not having that excuse with di maria, not like he missed 5 months of football. He wasn't out for that long and he was going missing in games when he was fit chelsea and city come to mind. The injury excuse is a poor one along with confidence and time to gel.

Moyes also had a lot of things to deal with that LVG didn't. It works both ways
Like what? taking over the team that won the league, having money to spend, did Moyes lose over 2000 caps of experience. Moyes had half the injuries. Moyes had more games to put his idea into practice. Sorry but im not having that.

Sorry I forgot Chelsea looked amazing against Shrewsbury and Bolton and played them off the park.

He also wasn't a big name so media didn't just lap up every word he said and were much tougher on him. Fans were much less forgiving. He had to work harder to gain the players trust and respect especially after slipping into Fergie's shoes. He also had less experience managing a big club and implementing it's transfer strategy unlike LVG

You keep mentioning that but Chelsea are also fighting on 4 fronts unlike United. Our squad is similar size if not smaller than United despite being in more competitions. Also, we have been fantastic for most of the season unlike United. Lastly, we still won ;)

I don't get the keep mentioning chelsea stuff, that's a poor argument tbf start slating the best team in the country.

Its not a crime to luck bad against lower oppo in the FA Cup.

Considering you are only involved in two competitions and played top players such as Falcao and Januzaj, you can't really use the excuse of the magic of the FA Cup to bail you out

No but he has only played 13 games this season spread out through different injuries so hardly gonna be flying is he.

Neither do I mate. Firstly because the discussion isn't about Chelsea. But secondly, Chelsea still won both games unlike United

We don't need di maria flying to be beating cambridge, villa, stoke or even looking like a top 4 prem side in the way we play. That's the main issue the absolute rubbish football, with sideways and backwards passing and with no direction going forward with this "philosophy" we look lost.

I don't get why people fail to understand there are many reasons we are not playing well. Call them excuses if you like. But this season was always going to be a transitional season after last, and despite how ever much we spent I always expected it to be a tough season.
