The Manchester United Thread

Chelski are near agreeing Cuadrado purchase with Wolfsburg getting Shurrle and Salah to Fiore.

Not happy at all seeing clubs hoovering up all the class players that WE should be going after (Real Madrid getting that Brazilian kid was also annoying).

Should we really be getting Cuadrado right now though? He is definitely not a right back. He is a winger who can attack well from wing back, but defends a bit better than Valencia. He is also not having a great season

Im sure just coz Chelsea are signing him that people think we should be in for him same goes for Madrid.

United defender Marnick Vermijl (23) will undergo a medical at Lokeren & will sign a long-term deal later today (via @MichVergauwen). #MUFC

and the clear out continues.

Kristof Terreur @HLNinEngeland Follow Lokeren had lined-up Vermijl as a replacement for Galitsios, but the Greek RB took a U-turn over their contract talks this morning. #MUFC

I see your point but yes we should. We need cbs/dm more but we also need a new winger (and Cuadrado is versatile as he can play fb/wb as well). I know he's not been great but Hummels has been pants this season as well (along with most of Dortmund but still). But both are still class and we should be going after class players in positions we need strengthening when they become available.

Abilitywise he's miles better than one foot and one trick pony Valencia.

And my point covered also the signing of Lucas Silva btw

Cuadrado is just as one footed as Valencia but is just quicker. Cuadrado is also as frusrtrating as Nani. Hes a good player but not class by any means. If we want a RB we should by a RB fed up of players playing out of position tbh. If we want a winger there are better than Cuadrado. Why should we sign Silva? We need players to improve the team not the squad.

Maybe Dani Alves since he apparently doesn't want to sign a new contract at Barce? I know he's old but if LvG persists on using this three at the back system then Alves would perhaps do the job in that RB/RW role.

Not too fussed about Cuadrado. Hadn't rated him much even back when he was the rage over here during the WC. Didn't want him then too, but was over-ruled back then. I'm not too fussed about the winger issue - lots of wide players around - hopefully, this means we're going for Depay, who can probably be really good. IF we want a RB, better to get a specialised one rather than a utility one.

As for Lucas Silva, as at this moment, he definitely wouldn't have been a starter for us, but more of a future prospect/backup player, atleast for a year. Also, he stated that he wanted to go to Madrid, and if we wanted to get him, it'd have likely involved some stupid wages.

Dani Alves would actually be decent, but he'll probably want stupid wages, which, considering his age, is where the stumbling block is, probably. Since he is a FB/WB, age counts since physically, he'll start to decline..

Since there is money, I'd rather we go for Coleman/Clyne.

LVG said when asked about lack of chances " I know we have not created so many chances lately, so that's why I will change system"

LVG also said the players need to improve there ball speed which he keeps telling them, and needs to be more clynical.
Also mentioned Fletcher is at WHU to finalize deal.

Chris Winterburn @Chriswin4 Follow Van Gaal on possible signings, "I've said two weeks ago, everyday you say I'm interested in players but I'm not interested in players."

Stuart Mathieson @StuMathiesonMEN Follow LVG " I've read every day that we are interested in players but I’m not interested in players."

Love how he gives the press **** all :)
