Not really, we'll probably need at least two if a few leave in the summer, which they should do, mentioning no names. *cough Evans*

I'm not saying don't go for Hummels, just saying assess what's the best CB to go for at the end of the season rather than just going off a name/reputation, I don't think it makes a lot of sense to splash the cash on him if he's out of form. Not to mention Dortmund aren't going to play easy and let us have him with no fight.
 
If Mcnair keeps up this rb stuff, might mean trouble for rafael when clyne/coleman come in.

Why? We're one of the few clubs who could financially offer him the best and I doubt Real would need him. So it's down to probably us and Chelsea, I'd definitely say we'd have a shout considering his recent comments about loving United still.

Not only that it would be true romance if he came back and went on to be a club legend after what originally happened :wub:

Hummels is 26. He has at least 5-6 years on top level. You could argue he's not even in his prime now. His age shouldn't be a problem, and it's not. I would be ecstatic if United can get any of those two, but there's no chance in **** Varane would leave RM, at least in this moment.
Who would I like more? I would love Varane more, but tbh, Hummels fits United better at this moment. I have no doubt Varane will be better in couple of seasons, but currently Hummels is still better and fits the bill almost perfectly. Strong, intelligent defender with plenty of international experience and he has great leadership qualities as well. We need someone who knows how to organize defense. If not Hummels, then I would go all in for Howedes.

There are no CBs in top form atm bar Godin and he has said he will not leave. Hummels is the best we can get in the business that's for sale and world class. Would not surprise me if we have the deal wrapped up before the end of season like a few other players were after get them done early. Woody most probs done a lot of leg work already.

Erm, you do realise he has been assessed. Most people with sense have realised that dortmunds overall poor form does not stop a transfer in the same way that every major club is after Reus in the summer.

And as for fight: You're saying Hummels is a tough fight, but you want Varane. From Real Madrid. Who don't want to sell at any price. And he isnt comtemplating leaving....

The embarrassment of paying ~£60m for a player we let go 3 years ago should be enough to stop us even attempting Pogba.

Hummels has the advantage of actually having a (high) price set.

Varane isnt even for sale. Not even a debate.

The embarrassment of him going to Chelsea, or worse City is even greater. Swallow our pride and bring him back.

Could soon change depending on his game time, also this is Real Madrid the same club who need to offload someone every season to get a new shiny toy.
 
We cant let Pogba go to City or Chelsea at least not without trying our hardest and making it tough for him financialy.
