The Manchester United Thread

Manchester United @ManUtd Follow Van Gaal on those who died at Munich: "They played a big part in the history of this club & I think we must always remember that."

Richard Jolly @RichJolly Follow Van Gaal on McNair on MUTV: "Maybe he can be the right-back of Manchester United for the next 10 years."

Louis Van Gaal has claimed Paddy McNair could be Manchester United's first-choice right-back for the next 10 years.

Bad news for Rafael. No way he'll be at the club next season in my opinion.

Don't think McNair will be first team next season. So, imo, Rafael could probably remain as an alternative to the new RB (well, I'm excluding Valencia from the count..)

Why not hes just signed a new deal, and has been playing well?

I'm not sure how I feel about that. On one hand, Rafael is pretty good, very aggressive, its exciting to see. other hand, he's aggressive. gets into trouble often and is very injury prone :(

LVG's sole issue with Rafael is his fitness. For a first choice RB he is too injury prone. If he cant stay fit he cannot be first choice. That is why his future is under threat

Yeah its always either red card or injury with Rafael. I genuinely think he's one of best full backs out there. But it doesn't matter if you're Maldini if you can barely manage 20 games a season.

Can anybody recommend an app or website for football news that is not flooded with Steven Gerrard guff??

Its about the journos realised that City squad is pretty average for the money they spent and there transfer record is poor considering the money they have spent. And the only 2 times they have won the league is due to Us and Pool handing it them in the last weeks of the season, and not due to having an amazing squad. I for one have been saying for a while they have an ok squad but not amazing and its about time journos are starting to realise this.

They have few excellent players but few of them gets easy ride from media.

It took several mistakes to see that Hart is not a quality keeper.
Kompany was excellent in their first title winning season and apart from that he had many poor games and always poor in Europe, but no one questions his ability because he speaks well to media.

Aguero, Yaya, Silva are world class players and would walk into any team in the world but like United City also have signed many average players.

Good post mate. It was just strange watching Sunday Supplement and there actually being some criticism towards them for a change. Apart from the 3 you mention and maybe Kompany I would not have any other player from there squad in our squad. And like you said Kompany makes a lot of errors and Yaya can go missing in games.

Wouldn't go that far saying wouldn't have anyone from their squad apart form those 3.

Milner is a great squad player, Zabaleta, Clichy, Fernandinho are all good players

I don't rate Clichy or Milner tbh yeah would be good squad players I suppose. Forgot about Zabaleta :) and not a fan of Fernandinho.

Good news for Will Keane yesterday scoring for Shef Wed and Rothwell made his debut for Blackpool playing the whole of the 2nd half, played fairly well despite being on the losing side. Least both getting game time on loan.
