I'll lose hope of any 'rebuild' if Ings or Berahino is a part of it...

Lots of good CBs out there the problem is most of them are young. Not sure we need another defensive minded CM we have Carrick and Blind we need a top BTB CM imo.

Carrick is way to old to be pivot and Blind is slow, physically weak and not that good of a tackler. They both still have role in the club, but not in the first team. Blind is perfect cover for lot of position, new O'Shea for me. If we want our midfield to be Herrera-Di Maria, we need someone to balance it. Someone who can recycle the ball after they lose it, because they will lose it. That's a big problem this season, not having a 'safty' like City or Chelsea do. Our attacking players don't trust our defenders, and thats for a good reason. Everytime we try to be more aggressive in midfield and take more risk, opposition hits us hard on counter attack. Second example is set pieces. Even though they are much better now, in the beginning they were ****** awful to defend. No one knows who to watch, some weird FM-esque zonal/man marking **** that didn't work.

We have arguably two box to box players in Di Maria and Herrera. Di Maria not so much, but he still operates the best from the deep, where he can run with ball and try some through balls. Herrera is excellent for link up and holding up the play. He's creative enough even though his passing can be suspect at the times, as is Di Marias. Blind did decent job this season, but United need better player than him.

Box to box player is needed, I agree, but in two scenarios:
a) we sell one of Mata/Fellaini, so we need backup box to box player
b) Herrera is not good enough and we sign first team box to box player.

I think your doing Blind a big disservice he has figures are right up there for tackles and interceptions in the league for DMs and pace don't matter when you can read the game so well. Matic is not fast at all. Blind should be a starter in a 433 as the DM.
