The Manchester United Thread

Di Maria to PSG, Hummels won't come especially if we drop from a CL position. No chance for Pogba, he hates Man Utd and Clyne is not good enough for Man Utd. Depay is a young future star, we can only hope. I hope we don't sign Stootman, full of constant knee injuries he doesn't recover from. Let Falcao go, he's a waste of space, cash in on RVP, Sell Nani but no one will pay his wages, Evans won't get a game for a League 1 team, but I want to keep Hernandez, he is being wasted. Rooney up front with Hernandez coming off the bench and starting Cup games. He's not a superstar but he finds the back of the net, POACHER.

The fact that you think we should sell Nani and keep Hernandez is kinda funny.

And Pogba doesn't hate Man Utd. He wanted to get first team football. Didn't think he would get that at Man Utd so left. Still likes the club.

Do Maria is not going to any club! Hummels will come if we have CL or not it's not a big factor for him has said in lots of interviews. Pogba still loves Utd so that's rubbish. Clyne is good enough for Utd has been one of best FBs this season in league and will only get better. Hernandez was pretty poor at finding the net when Fergie left all be it with limited games I know.

Hopefully we are not interested in Clyne, his attacking game is so underwhelming. Would love to stick with Valencia and Rafael rather than Clyne.

I think Clyne's defensive game is probably why LvG is interested in him.. If what we've read about LvG's policy is true, then he prefers his fullbacks to defend rather than attack. Else, we wouldn't be sticking with Valencia when we have Rafael fit.

Valencia offers lot to the attacking game, attack is more than just playing beautiful crosses or making assists. He is a fantastic outlet on the right side and no player carries the ball forward like he does at ManUtd. I think it was Carrick who said it's easy with Valencia in the team because he carries the ball 40-50 yards forward and gives team some breathing space.

Clyne's defensive game is not great too, he is rash and caught up many times, he has recovery pace though which bails him out. He is a good FB playing in a team with excellent defensive cover. I don't see any one attribute that makes him stand out. If Rafael is fit then he is miles better too which is shame as he is never fit.

All managers wants their full back to attack and provide the width, Van Gaal is no different. We have Shaw on the left side who is defensively very good but attacking is bit meh. Don't need 2 full backs with similar profile.

Clyne is better defender than Valencia which is more important to Lvg and we can't even compare Rafa and Clyne. Rafa may be the better talent, but is far to rash and never fit for more than two weeks. Clyne would be great and fill home grown quota which is important also.

Definitely don't rate Valencia that much. Very, very meh defensively, and not that great attacking-wise too. Rarely, very rarely takes on his man. Rafael is better than both, but fitness is the issue. However, him not being played even when fit (and inspite of Valencia having a torrid game - Arsenal) makes me think LvG doesn't want FB to attack. I'd rather have a fit Rafael at RB, but turns out, LvG doesn't like attacking FB.

As per current rules, think Rafael also fills HG quota. He joined us when he was 18 from Fluminense, I think? Still think we should keep Rafael, but sadly, I don't think that is going to happen.

Valencia plays most games because Van Gaal wants settled defense which we can't get with Rafael. Like I said Valencia is a frustrating player because he gets into great positions but fails to make it count but he plays ball carrier role better than anyone and is always available for pass on right wing.

With Clyne and Shaw we might have the leagues most impotent attacking full backs. I don't see what Clyne adds to the team that Valencia can't.

I will post the comparison chart later where Valencia wins in every single stat.

If you are not happy with Valencia's lack of drive and taking full back on then don't bother watching Clyne at all.

Rafael and Fabio were United players since they were 16, but due Brazilian rules, they cannot leave country without special permissions if they are underaged.

14 as per Gary Neville.

Sorry stats or no stats I will choose Clyne over Valencia everyday of the week as our starting FB next season.

Fenerbahce hold talks with Manchester United star Robin van Persie

Fenerbahce representatives have held early talks with Robin van Persie’s agent Kees Vos in Düsseldorf according to the Turkish newspaper Sabah.
The Istanbul Giants are understood to be preparing a three-year-deal worth €20 million for Van Persie. The report goes onto state that the Netherlands international is interested in a move to Fenerbahce if they can secure UEFA Champions League football next season.
The 31-year-old’s contract with Manchester United runs out in July 2016 and is unlikely to be offered a new contract.

Lvg said in presser that Smalling out still ill and RVP not fit enough. Also said he knows his team from training for Villa. And after his Belguim form it is impossible to leave out Fellaini.
